I have been with them for 2 1/2 years now and have never had a problem.
I was traveling out of state and had a spider bite that needed attention. I was not sure where to go and just picked a clinic that I thought would be good. I received a bill from the clinic a month later and called VIVA Health. They checked the bill that the clinic submitted. The customer service person asked why I went to the clinic and I told her about the spider bite. She checked my records and said that the doctor had not coded it as an emergent visit. I was prepared for a fight over who is going to pay the bill. She came back after a minute and told me that she had changed the coding because a spider bite is critical and that everything was taken care of. With other insurance companies, I have had to fight and get records sent from my doctors to the company. With VIVA, they take care of everything and you can call and anticipate a very pleasant and helpful experience.
I have also changed my primary care doctors many times each year. They always change them without any questions or fights.
I would highly recommend this company to anybody. If you can get your employer to use them as your healthcare provider, I would highly recommend.
PROS: Quick to solve claim problems
CONS: No known cons!!
It is a great store to find stylist clothing for preteens and teens. They have a large selection of various styles from prep to the most modern styles. If you are a little older, you can find some nice fitting jeans and shirts.
The workers are a little young and so you don't get a lot of good service, but it is about what you would expect from this type of store.
Everytime I go here I feel welcomed and at home. Everybody is quick to talk to you and try their hardest to make you feel welcome. I always feel uplifted when I am there and when I leave.
PROS: Uplifting and spiritual
Very good facility with top of the line equipment. They can have multiple classes at once and be no overlapping of the classses because it is so large.
They have so many different classes to choose from for kids of all ages. The classes are pretty small with 8 kids or so. They fill up and they have waiting lists for a class you might want. The coaches are very nice and very good with the kids.
You pay by the month instead of for a 10 week session like other places. That is nice, just in case your child hates it, you don't lose money.
They are easy to access from any direction and have ample parking.
PROS: Pay by the month
They always have a very good selection of wheat and whole grains bread to choose from. I buy a ton of bread everytime I go there. The bread is usually fresh and soft. You need to pay attention to the expiration dates because sometimes they are past. Also, beware of mold on the bread.
They also have a large selection of rolls, snacking treats, and tortillas. Make sure you check freshness.
PROS: A lot of different types of breads to choose from
CONS: Check the freshness.
I chanced upon them when I needed running shoes and there are no other places to buy them in the Gardendale area. They had a pretty good selection for people with normal feet, and I found just what I needed.
For my flat footed husband, it took a few tries before he found a pair that worked well. He is better off going to a larger chain store with a broader selection.
They don't have a very large selection of children's dress shoes. I can find tennis shoes that fit boys and girls pretty well. Even though they have sale prices, I still felt like I paid too much for kid shoes. They were about $10 less than my Nike adult running shoes.
There really isn't much help in the store. One person stayed at the register while another acted busy. But still, it is the only place in Gardendale to buy athletic shoes.
PROS: Good adult running shoe selection
CONS: Not very many kid shoes
They have a very good selection of cards and little figures like most Hallmark stores. They don't tend to have the large number of Christmas ornaments that some other Hallmark's have. They also were not going to honor a coupon I had 3 copies of. They would honor 1 but not the others. I told them that was fine, and I would go to other Hallmark stores to redeem them. The clerk talked to the owner and convinced him to let me redeem all coupons at the store. It was a little irritating.
PROS: Large selection of cards and figures
CONS: Not so large number of Christmas ornaments.
They have a very large selection of all types of books. The books are all REALLY used and they are a bit overpriced. You are almost better off going to a new book store, except that there isn't one in the Gardendale area.
The man working there was helpful in finding specific books that I was looking for, but I was turned off by the price.
They don't have a large selection of books on tape or CDs.
PROS: Large selection
CONS: Little pricey
I have received these cinnamon rolls via fundraisers for kids in my neighborhood and have bought them at the store. They were always very fresh and very tasty. I paid $2.50 for a cinnamon roll that could easily feed 2. The school organization received $1.30 per cinnamon roll. That is very generous.
The people running the counter at the store were always very quick to help and the rolls were very fresh. They have a large selection of different types of rolls, so you don't have to get just cinnamon rolls. You can even watch them make some while you wait. They give really good discounts if you buy 6 or 12, but 6 of those rolls could feed 12 people.
PROS: Awesome cinnamon rolls
I have been in this office to open an account, close an account, deposit coins, have something notarized, and cash in savings bonds. With all of these different transactions, I was treated very well and very quickly by very knowledgable staff. Everybody was very quick to take care of my needs in a timely manner. On top of everything, they had free, uncomplicated parking in downtown Birmingham.
PROS: Very fast service, easy parking
