Agentum Gallery is a really nice jewelry store. I guess they call it a gallery because their stuff is handmade and designed by them. It definately qualifies as art. Considering the quality and how unique the pieces are, I don't think their prices are extravagant at all. They will also work with you to custom design anything you want.
Dr brewer is a really great dentist. He is so nice and reassuring. He does his best to ease any fears you might have and has a very gentle manner. He is also entertaining. I would recommend him to anyone, no exceptions. His staff is really nice too. He does good dental work.
I would tell anyone that I cared about and maybe even people that I hate not to go to Dr Whitlock. I have had numerous bad experiences with him. I first went to him when he was just starting out, with Dr. Roberts. I liked him better back then. Now he seems to think his opinion is the gospel. He has inflicted extraordinary pain and heartache to my mom, and when she got a second and third opinion, turns out he was wrong. Don't go there! Too expensive also!
The Fairfax market is only good if you live at the Pointe or somewhere else out in the boonies. Or if you are spending the day at the lake and you forgot something that you just can't live without and don't mind paying way too much for! And if you don't mind that whatever you are buying is covered in dust, then you are really in good shape.
The Den used to be called the Discount Den. They dropped the discount in the name but not in the prices. The Den rocks! They have tons of "college" stuff. Tee shirts and random bits of IU stuff. I really like to shop there for cds. They have a great selection and really good prices. They must be taking a hit since the mp3 explosion because they seem to be specializing a lot more in adult entertainment dvds, but hey that's college stuff, right? Also good for candy and incense and candles.
maybe I am just jaded, but i haven't been to a good general furniture store anywhere in Bloomington. I guess they are used to catering to students who will pay too much for furniture that they will put out on the curb in a few years. I would rather wait until they do than pay the kind of prices they have at Stahl. They claim to have interior decorators here. I don't think so. Maybe they got certified online.
I have to say first off that I have only been to Long's Landing one time. So maybe their selection changes enough to warrant giving them another star. I doubt it though. Everything I saw was gross and out of style. And considering the prices they had on said items, I would never go back to check.
Bikesmiths Bicycle Shop is a really great bike shop. Everybody who works there is super nice and friendly, but not pushy. And considering how much they know about bikes, they really could be pretty easily. They don't mind answering questions, even if you aren't buying. They also rent bikes which is neat for visitors.
Southern Sporting Goods is a good choice if you don't mind shopping on the West side and you like supporting independent local businesses. They have a lot of stuff for bikes. I just wish that they were still located "in town". But still if you live out that way and don't like going to the mall, it's a great option.
This is a great place to go bowling either with a group or even by yourself. Everybody is really nice here. The shoes aren't totally nasty and the fees for games are really low. I have never been to the glow bowling, but it sounds like fun. Much much better since there is no smoking allowed. Still can be lots of drunk people though, so beware.
