This office provides great marriage counseling. The psychologist is patient, kind, and really focuses on the couple. I never felt that I was in the wrong or that I was in the right, but rather than we all needed to work together to solve the problems and to work on communication issues. There was plenty of parking there and they are reasonably priced (in light of the area and the services provided). I have recommended this place to other couples and everyone has been happy with them.
I hired O'Connell & Associates at the recommendation of my lawyer. I felt very confident when I spoke to them on the telephone that they would know what to do and how to to get it done. Although they were able to get evidence that my husband was cheating, I found their rates to be extremely high. They charge by the hour, which would have otherwise been fine, but there were times my husband was just sitting at home and they charged me for hours of just waiting outside his house. They do other surveillance work, including insurance issues. I think they investigators are qualified but they are extremely expensive.
Hawthorne Stereo has a large selection of both new and used stereo systems. They also have a room in their store set aside for home theater and speaker equipment. The salespeople made themselves available to answer questions and they allowed us to browse around the store without following our every step. You can even tell them about the current equipment you have and ask what items they would recommend to upgrade your system (instead of fully replacing it). They are fairly pricey on their new items, but you can get some good deals on their used items.
Standard Home has a large variety and selection of items for your home (including furnishings, light fixtures, etc.). The employees are extremely knowledgeable and don't try to push their styles off on you but instead listen to what you want and try to find what will work within your budget and decoration ideas. They specialize in vintage furniture which can go in modern homes. Standard Home has a layaway plan and also allows you to sometimes rent their items. Additionally they even have a return policy. They are on the pricey side, but there are items at the store that you will likely not be able to find elsewhere.
I have used Quest Diagnostics many times for blood testings. They do a variety of evaluations of bloodwork, including thyroid levels, cholesterol levels, diabetes testing, white and red blood cell counts, etc. They will work on a rush basis if required; otherwise they have a pretty fast turnaround time. Quest Diagnostics will usually arrange to pick up the blood work from the physician's office on a daily basis. They are fairly priced, especially if your physician accepts your insurance.
Westwood Country Club has several different amenities to offer its members (pool, tennis, golf), including lessons for the various activities. The food at the club itself is pretty although it is quite pricey. (They offer a Sunday brunch which is very good). The golf course is well maintained, however it is not that challenging. They've recently rebuilt the clubhouse so the inside part of the facility is quite nice now.
It is fairly easy to get a tee time on this public course located in Oakton. There is a ton of parking there and also a lot of places to practice hitting balls, practice pitching, sand shots, and putting. The golf course is right near student ball fields so it is often distracting when you're playing to hear the coaches, children or parents all yelling on the adjoining fields. Also, for a 9 hole course, it can be a little expensive for the weekends. The course is usually well maintained during the summer months but from late fall onward they really let the course go.
This is a fairly challenging executive (non-par 3) golf course. It is well maintained, clean and the greens are cut regularly. They often run behind so you have to wait when you get there. They also don't have a driving range for you to practice beforehand. There is a small green for putting practice, but sometimes it is closed. They offer discounted rates to Fairfax County residents and it is reasonably priced.
Sahalee is not reallly a country club. They have 27 holes of golf, a pro shop, golf lessons, golf club fittings, and they serve food there, but there are no other country club facilities (such as a pool or tennis). They do keep the greens beautifully maintained and the pro shop is attractive and well organized (but expensive). I have eaten there numerous times and have been disappointed each time. The food is just mediocre and I don't recommend it.
Dania furniture store has some nice items in it. Their furniture is quite modern with sharp lines. For most sofas (other than the leather ones) they will allow you to pick an exact swatch of what you want and special order it for you. They are a little pricey, however they do have items on sale in the back). The staff was very helpful and not pushy at all. They allowed us to take our time and sit on different items before we made our decision. We ordered a set of bookcases from them, but after we picked them up and opened them we realized they gave us the wrong color. They were very cooperative when we returned the first bookcase (with the wrong color) but it was still a pain to bring it back. they offer delivery services as well.
