Eve Beauty Salon & Elctrlyss
If you need to get your eye brows shaped, this is a great place to go. The women that work here are great at shaping eyebrows. The great thing is that they do is really quickly and it is virtually painless. It will take five minutes tops. And it only costs 6 dolalrs! You can't beat that price and the fact that its painless. They also do lots of other services, like hair cuts, colors, and facials.
Stella's Diner
Stella's Diner is a great neighborhood diner. I think the best thing here is the fries and the milk shakes. The milk shakes are thick and really great. This place is great for the entire family. They are really friendly here and have fast service. They are reasonably priced and it is a fun place to take your entire famly for a tasty and hearty meal.
Aloha Grill
The aloha grill is a great place to go for a casual Hawaiin meal. They have a lot of cool things to choose from, all with a hawaiin twist to them. This is the only place I know of that has hawaiin food and it is really great. Everything is grilled fresh and tastes amazing. Plus, you get so much food for really reasonable price. Service is really quick and efficient too!
Bamee Noodle Shop
This is a really casual thai restaurant. As far as the restaurant goes, there are many nicer, cleaner restaurants in the area. But what makes this place worth going to is the outdoor terrace in the warmer weather. They have great lunch specials; you can pick from a variety of meals for only about 5.99 each. The food is pretty good too!
Hema's Kitchen
Hema's Kitchen is a good option for Indian food in the lake view area. The food here is total comfort food, it is hearty and comfortable feeling and at the same time really authentic and spicy. I think one of the best dishes to try is the Daal, which is curried lentils, with rice. It is a meatless dish, but so tasty nonetheless. They have a huge menu and there's lots of good options to choose from.
Pasta Bowl
If you are in the mood for a hearty bowl of pasta, this is the best place in the lake view area. They have a cute little restaurant that has a decent sized menu consisting of soups, salads, and pastas. The food is really reasonably priced and the portions are huge! You will definitely leave with a full stomach AND leftovers. Best of all, you get all this at a really reasonable price too and great service!
Renaldi's Pizza Pub
This is definitely not the best pizza place in town. We went here and got a large pizza. For one, it was pretty expensive. Two, they took almost a half hour to get it out to us, even though we were the only ones in the restaurant. Three, it wasn't even that great and definitely not worth the wait or the money. I think there are many better pizza places out there, so if you are really craving a good pizza place, skip this one and head on over somewhere else!
Amarit Thai & Pan Asian Cuisine
I have been to Amarit several times. The food is actually just okay. I think most of their dishes have too many bamboo shoots in them and most of them use the same seasoning/flavoring so they taste pretty much the same. The only thing that keeps bringing me back again and again are the crab rangoons here. The crab rangoons that are served here are the best in town and hard to find anywhere else. Couple that with one of their great fruit smoothies and you are set to go! This place deserves five stars just for its crab rangoons.
Rezas Restaurant
I just went here a couple of weeks ago for their sunday brunch buffet. I had heard a lot of great things about it, so I was looking forward to it. I had mixed feelings at the end of the meal. The Middle Eastern food was pretty good. Most of it was tasty and fresh. The only thing I would avoid are the bagles and crossaints - those tasted stale. I also thought the restaurant could be a little better kept. It was a bit dirty when we went. Also, the waitress we had was hard to find and we had to wait endlessly for our drinks and our bill. Overall, an okay place to go. I think for $25/per person, you can get better though.
Thai Classic Restaurant
This is another one of the many small thai joints in the area. I think this is an okay choice for thai food. They have all you typical thai dishes on their menu, but I found the few that I tried to be a bit on the bland side. They could defintely use a couple of kicks of spices. The service I thought could be better too because our waitress was kind of slow and was nowhere to be found at times. One thing that I did like one time when I was there was their floor seating -- it gave the whole place a really authentic feel.
