Walking into Merlins is like stepping into Halloween and a Fairy Tale all at the same time. This is a place you can go window shopping any day. There's a lot to look at. The older gentleman who works (owner?) there is very friendly and helpful. He clearly loves what hes doing and wants to share it with anyone that comes in. They have a bunch of costumes. All the usual ones and some that were new to me. There are also lots of neat magic items. You can learn to be a magician and get everything you need. The prices are right, parking is easy, and it's easy to find. Fun store to take kids or adults who just enjoy being kids :)
I have been to Angel and Mi once and will definately be going back. They have just purchased a new location on a little pond. Nice large facility with lots of parking. The staff is friendly. I did have to wait about 10 minutes later than my appointment time to be taken back. I guess this is standard because in the wainting area I was speaking to a lady who is a regular that said it was normal for them to run 10-15 minutes late. This is my only complaint. The haircut I got was very nice and the price was reasonable. I like the rooms in the building. It looks like there are 2-3 stylists per room so you aren't on display while you look like a shaggy dog in the stylists chair.
I will be going back. Check them out!
I work near Espling and have been in to window shop more than once. The sales staff is always willing to help and answer any questions. They carry a large selection just like you would find at any of the larger chain stores. A week ago I took my mother in, who has a pretty good knowledge of odd and hard to find gems. She asked the sales person about "appetite". I would have said I wasn't hungry, but the sales person knew what it was and offered to show her a catalog of available pieces. Since it's so rare most stores don't even know what it is much less have the ability to order it.
The store is easy to find in Mandarin. Parking is ample. The prices are a little on the high side, but you are getting much better quality than you would at the mall. Check them out!
I ate at Harvest Thyme twice now and never will again. Both times I have gone with a friend and both times we both have gotten food that was either over done or spoiled. Last time I went I ordered tabouli. I think it had been sitting around for weeks. It was obviously sour. I asked to speak to the owner and calmly explained what was wrong. I ended up being literally yelled at in front of the entire restaurant. She went bonkers, like she had never been told something of hers was bad. Needless to say I won't be going back. The food is horrible, there is no parking, the lunch wait is long and of course the owner is satan's spawn.
This is a neat little fish store. I am not at all a fish person. I have had a few guppies, goldfish and betas and that's all my experience with fish. They offer a large selection of pretty (and not so pretty) fish. They also can help you if you have a sick fish and recommend what to do. They even have bought a fish from me after a trip to the fair left us with a big "what are we going to do with this?" goldfish. They have a few other pets and it's a fun place to go checkout even if you are ready to buy.
Kellys is like any other nail/hair salon. It's not big, or fancy. They don't really offer any special services. They do good work. The smell of the nails when you're getting your hair done is a little overwhelming. I have had both. It's not a bad salon. They are small town people trying to offer big city services and in my opinion fall a little short. They are good if you are in a bind and need something done quickly. Not bad, not great...just kind of there.
I used McCalls for a TV repair and found them to be very fast and knowledgeable. They fixed my TV in a few days and also offered pick up and delivery. They also have a nice selection of new TVs and offer satellite service. The prices are reasonable especially for the convenience if you live in the High Springs or Ft White area. They know what they are doing and do it well.
You'll feel like you found a four leaf clover and got very lucky when you come to Fitzpatricks. They have all kinds of great Irish collectables. Beautiful crystal. Even walking in you will hear Irish music wafting through the air. The selection is huge and the prices are very reasonable. Great place for authentic Irish products!
Michael Jon is a great jeweler. The selection is large and varied. The quality is good too. They have some very original pieces and can even create a custom order piece if you can't find what you want. The atmosphere is comfortable with the owners dogs often greeting you as you come in. The prices are in line for the quality they offer. They also offer repair service.
This is a gem of a store. It is located on Main Street in little High Springs but it has awesome stuff. Every time I need a gift this is the first place I go. They have a nice selection of collectables and team knick knacks. There is also a big area in the rear with furniture and home dec stuff. The prices are great and they keep up with the seasons...meaning that I have to go at least every couple months to check out what they have even if I don't need a thing! Fun to browse. Friendly owners.
