Warhol Museum
The Andy Warhol Museum is a great place to go year round (especially on those rainy days...) It's a fresh escape from traditional art and has many interactive exhibits for you to take part in such as a creative room in the basement where you can make warhol'esqe art and a silver cloud room where there are floating balloons to play with (which can be entertaining for quite a while really...). Definitely check out the warhol museum if you're in Pittsburgh!
Norman Public Library
Although it doesn't stand out as being a place to visit and Norman certainly does not give it the building it deserves... The norman library is a great place to study, research for classes, or even take your children. They have a humongous kids section to try to get kids interested in reading at a young age. They also have movies that you can check out - for free! it's a good place for all year round.
White Water Bay Water Park
I absolutely love white water bay! It has a ton of water rides for everyone (swimmers and non swimmers).
I've never been much of a swimmer, so white water bay is perfect for me because it includes tubing rides, a mini white water ride, and so much more.
It is the perfect escape from the *HOT* Oklahoma heat!
Little River Zoo
Little river zoo started off as just generosity for strange animals (such as a blind kangaroo, abandoned animals, or monkeys that were used in lab experiments) it soon became a wonderful place filled with exotic animals and very enjoyable stories. If you ask the owners to tell you some stories- those alone will be worth the visit. It's especially good for younger childen to explore.
Thunderbird Riding Stables
Trotting around the scenic view of Thunderbird park is extremely relaxing and fun. It is great for spending time with friends/family and even better for special occasions. The trails and horses are not designed for professional riders (the horses are trained to go very slow) and there is not a lot of free steering, but it is still a lot of fun for amateur riders!
Perfect Swing Family Fun Center
Perfect Swing is an amazing place for the family to go for birthday parties or special events. Although it does look somewhat old from the outside, the entertainment is always fresh. There is golfing for parents and arcade games and outside rides for kids. There is a batting cage (great for birthdays) and also perfect swing occaisonally shows football games on a large screen. I'd highly recommend it.
