L A Hair

I just had my hair dyed at L A Hair. I was very nervice and had not had the procedure done before and did not know what it involved. My stylist was very nice and made me feel comfotable. She recommended a color that would complement my coloring. I decided to try it and I absolutely love it. I would definetly go back again. I may even try highlights the next time. It was a great atmosphere - not like some salons that act like they are above you. I would recommend this salon.

Bacharach Rasin Sporting Goods

My son buys all of his lacrossed equipment from Bacharach Rasin. They have been around forever and really seem to know their stuff. The workers are very knowledgable about their inventory and can make recommendations. My son has used them since just starting out. They recommeded beginner equipment that he added to as he developed. Now his beginner equipment belongs to his brothers. If you need advice go to Bacharach Rasin.

Mumbles & Squeaks Toy Gallery

While browsing antiques in historic Ellicott City, I discovered this high end toy store. It has a range of toys from infants to ten years old. There are marionettes and many hard to find and unusual toys. Playmobile, thomas, parent's choice, etc... This is a two level store stocked to the gills. I shop here for my kids birthdays and other events.

Oak Park Kennels

I boarded my dog here for a week long vacation. This is a no frills kennel located at the end of a residential street in Halethorpe. As you walk up to the kennel you can hear dogs barking. The cement runs are small and allow the dogs to go outside and inside. It does not seem overly clean - there is a slight smell. The kennel does require all shots including bordatella to be up to date and verified by your vet. They also will do special diets. As always walks and playtime are extra.

My children all go to Parnes, May, & Associates. There is a great play area that the children love. The staff is great and they always remember my kids. I hear horror stories from other Moms about not being able to get an appointment when their kids are sick. I always get same day - mostly within an hour or two. There are enough doctors to choose from - women for older girls if needed. You can always request to have your preferred doctor except on emergencies. My kids get excellent care here. They also do a lot of community service activities.

Howard County General Hospital

Last Halloween my five year old son was sent to Howard County General with a possible case on meningitis. We walked in the door and the staff already had his paperwork - it was only a five minute drive from doctor's office to hospital. He was taken right back to a dedicated pediatric area. His room was warm and comfortable and quiet. The best part for his was watching Scooby Doo on his own personal tv. The staff attended him promptly and he was not given any unnecessary procedures. On his way out, he was even given a treat bag full of goodies because it was Halloween.

Gbmc Healthcare

I have had my children at GBMC and have had to stay on several occaisions. One time that I had to stay for three days due to pregnancy illness, I felt very taken care of. It was like staying at a hotel. The only problem as with most hospitals is that they have you awake from 1-5 in the morning when you should be getting your rest. I would like to see a better system of communication between the doctors, nurses, staff, and patients. Most times they do not communicate. It seems like it would be better for everyone that way.

My Grandmother recently had to be admitted to the hospital at St. Agnes. She was sent there be her doctor with symptoms of a failing kidney. Because she was not a true "emergency" my 85 year old grandmother sat in the open public emergency waiting room for over twelve hours waiting for a room in the hospital to open up. During this time she had no food or medical care. My grandmother has problems with anxiety and this was a horrifying situation for her. It could not have been good for her condition. If she was sick enough to be admitted to the hospital (she stayed for over a week) how could they have let her stay in the emergency room waiting for so long? I called the head nurse and got no where.

Payne Landscaping Inc

I used Payne Landscaping for a brick patio. The quality of their work was exceptional. The workers cleared the area, layed out the design and layed the patio in just one day. It has been over a year now and the patio is still in perfect shape. After the crew was finished they cleaned up all of their mess and everything looked great.
