Hair Studio 42
I swung in to 42 to see if they could recover a bad cut I got at a chain salon at the recommendation of a friend. I was VERY happy with the results, which did NOT involve shaving my head. On top of that, they have free coffee!
PROS: Free coffee/drinks, great service, pro stylists!
CONS: Somewhat pricey... The coffee isn't really "free." :)
Technical Search Consultants
A lot of the lower-end IT staff agencies employ less-than-ethical tactics to try to get their consultants work. Though I never got a job through TSC, in meeting with them and talking to them on many occasions, they proved to me that they exemplify how a staff agency should be run.
PROS: Solid, dynamic staff.
CONS: Limited contracts.
University Hospitals of Cleveland
I had to go to University Hospitals once for a problem that developed on the job and I was less than impressed. They didn't honor my requests that I not be seen by students and I really felt uncomfortable there. Go to CCF.
PROS: None.
CONS: Why go here when CCF is a few blocks away?
Pro Fitness Ctr
This gym and fitness center has a HUGE selection of equipment and a staff that knows all of it. They have great pricing and the atmosphere is cordial. Now if only I could keep the promise to go as often as I should. :)
PROS: Large selection of equipment and knowledgeable staff
CONS: Parking fills up quickly.
Marantha Book Store & Gift Shp
Maranatha has a great selection of Christian books, magazine, icons and other related items. Always good service and their pricing is fair. I always enjoy when I get a chance to stop in and visit.
PROS: Good pricing, friendly staff.

Pearl Road Auto Wrecking
PRAP is a great junk yard and they almost ALWAYS have what you're looking for. They're family owned and operated and they take the time to make sure you get what you're looking for and that it's exactly right. Open M-Sa, and worth the trip!

Independence Library
This branch is a great resource if you're living or working in Independence. Their staff is warm and friendly and they always have a great selection on hand. Definitely worth a visit.

Rudy's Strudel Shop & Bakery
This place has the best pierogies I have ever had, bar none. Not even my friend's old Polish grandma can do better than Rudy's does! On top of that, their cookies are tasty as is everything they make. Definitely a place worth going!
PROS: Great pierogies and other goods.
CONS: None.
Sapphire Technologies
Sapphire is, in my opinion, the best information technology staffing agency in the Cleveland area. They treat their consultants very well and make sure they are well-compensated, in good working conditions, and satisfied. This is the cream of the crop!
PROS: Great treatment of consultants AND clients.
CONS: None.
Robert Half Finance & Acctng
It has been some time since my dealings with this agency and I still am annoyed at their business practices. Though I have been told the parties responsible have since left the office, many things don't work well when dealing with RHT... First, they will try to absolutely low-ball your salary. Second, they will attempt to have you apply for positions you're not really qualified for. Finally, they NEVER return phone calls. You have to call them EVERY DAY to get any results at all.
PROS: None
CONS: Unethical business practices and they really don't care about their people.
