I have been visiting this bakery since I was a kid growing up in holmesburg. I still visit and always have to pick up some butter cookies since I think they make the best out there. Their doughnuts are very good and so are they cakes. Unlike most bakeries, they are open 6 days a week and have good hours.
Stocks is known for their pound cake. It's everyone's choice for wedding cakes. They don't do any fancy decorating but they really don't have to because it doesn't last long. I ordered a cake recently for my mom's birthday to feed 50 people and the cake was less than thirty dollars. They have amazing prices and the quality is awesome. They are also known for their raisin bread which is only available on Saturdays. Be prepared to wait in line!
I've never seen cakes decorated the way they're done at this bakery. They are so beautiful, the flowers look like the real thing to the point you don't want to cut it. I've had several cakes from there and while they're good, I would not call them great. The icing is very thick since flowers are in 3-D. It's not very sweet and taste a bit like crisco. The regular vanilla layer cake was also not very sweet. I had the chocolate chip and would recommend that one for a better taste. I would recommend this bakery for the decorating more so than the taste.
I love rillings cakes for wedding and christenings or any other occassion. Their cakes are so moist and just melt in your mouth. Their icing is so sweet and tasty too. They custom made a cake for my friend in the shape of a beer can. They also have very good pastries and pies.
This is probably one of the best bakery's outside of philly but their roots are in philly. I've gotten everything from rolls, tomatoe pie, hoagies but the strombolies have got to be my favorite. I've had a few pastries which were also very good. Their bread is a little on the sweet side which is a nice change from you average italian bread. You can feed your whole family lunch for less than 20 bucks and have plenty of leftovers.
I use this bakery for some of their breads which are good, but every kind taste the same. Everything is baked fresh on their premisis daily. The usually run a buy 1 get one free special monday through friday which can be a big cost savings. I've had chocolate cake from them which was pretty good. It is hard to find a good bakery outside of Philadelphia.
This bakery has the best creme doughnuts in northeast philly! I don't even live in this neighborhood anymore and I still drive down there for all my birthday cakes and other baked goods. The bakery is family owned for many decades. They have delicious sticky buns and cupcakes too. They can custom decorate your kids cake with their favorite character. It's not with that cheesy edible paper, they actually hand design your cake.
I only used the automatic wash and I will never go back. You drive into what looks like a garage and the wash is brushless so the dirt doesn't fully come off. It basically looks like sprinklers running over your car. You can probably get a better wash from a strong downpour of rain. The cheapest price for the auto wash is $5.50 which is a rip off since you come out with dirt on your car. There is also self serve but I have never used that part. There are always alot of cars they so I assume that's pretty good.
This is the type of car wash you don't sit in your car for. You walk through a hallway while you watch your car get cleaned. There is nothing special about the wash job only that you don't sit in the car. The price for an average wash is twelve dollars. There are also do it yourself vaccumm cleaners in the lot.
I went to this store looking for a christening outfit for my son. I did not want to put him in a dress so I found this adorable shorts outfit that was perfect because the weather was warm. They had all the accessories to go with it to. They also had regular clothes but special occassion was their specialty. The prices were a little higher than the bigger retail chains but their styles were different than what the chain stores carry.
