There is no actual building that you can sign up for. There are three men who run the business who have different times but call themselves Bobby for the Customer's Convience. Pretty cheap and the guy who I had was very nice. When you call them, it is automatically goes to a cell phone. Made me wait outside his house for a little bit while he changed and ate. All you do is run errands.
The cakes are rather inexpensive for what you pay for. Decorated very nicely and each one seems to be perfect. The cakes are a little sweeter than normal cakes and can sometimes be too rich tasting. However, it is great for dinner parties and family gatherings. Great variety of cakes and the staff is always helpful and nice.
Very small old fashioned theater. No it is not your Century 25 or Regal but it's serves the community great. Right now they have a promotion where you get free popcorn on thursdays and sometimes they have a cheaper tuesday movie. Also gives a student discount. Sometimes it's better to see a movie on a smaller, one theater than get lost in today's technology.
Not really the world's greatest public high school but high school is what you make of it. When I first registered, I told them I spoke Chinese and they put me into a English as a Second Language class even though I told them I was born in Oakland California. I've had some pretty good counselors and teachers. Even though I went there for 3 out of my 4 years of High School, I don't think I would change it one bit.
I have been going to the Castro Valley Library for some time as it is walking distance from my high school. They recently were awarded a grant. This grant will relocate the library in a new facility that will include more rooms and more parking. Right now, the library can not serve the community the way a library should. It is small, little parking, only a few conference rooms and there are not enough books. Not enough computers for internet access either.
My first trip there was a success. I needed a part for my car and they had it and they gave me a pretty decent price. It turns out I got the wrong part so I went there several times to refund it or even get store credit. On several occasions they were closed even though their hours said they were open. I finally got lucky and went there on a day they decided to be open It sucks though because I lost my receipt. I had my receipt the days they were not there. I figured they were so friendly the first time that they would give me store credit. I did pay with a credit card and it had only been two weeks. The guy yelled at me and said No receipt no return. He also asked why would I get a part that I did not need. He talked down to me like I was the scum of the earth! I've never been yelled at like that by anyone.
My car was having some issues and I thought it might be the brakes so I took it to Upper Grove Way Auto Repair to see what might have to be done to my car. They charged me to inspect my brakes which was about 30 dollars. They ended up inspecting the entire car and gave me a list of what needed to be done and basicailly told me to just get a new car because the work on the car would be too expensive. I thought it was nice of them to inspect the entire car even though I only paid for the brake inspection. I ended up taking that list to a friend of mine and getting the work done for cheaper than what I would've paid there.
Although I have not been there in a few months (my brother in law is cutting my hair now), I am met with a smiling face. They are pretty decently cheap and do a good job. They do not just do the girly girl stuff but men's haircuts also. Very diverse in styles and work and usually they do a great job.
My best friend and I were tired from our week long trip and decided to stay here because it looked promising. It is a slightly small hotel but that really does not mean anything. The rooms are pretty big with a safe, an iron and board, coffee maker with gourmet coffee, a microwave and a mini fridge. The breakfast was fabolous. Fresh, make your own waffles and juice that is heavenly. Staff is very friendly and will help you with anything that you need. Has internet connection in your rooms or if you do not have your laptop, there is one public computer near the lobby. Also has a gym and is near the SF airport.
PROS: Gym, Free breakfast, clean rooms
CONS: no swimming pool
