George's Camera & Video Exch
They have a large selection of camera equipment as well as technical items like gray cards and meters as well as photo paper, negative cleaner and other development needs. The staff is quite knowledgeable and the prices are decent. They have a large selection of accessories too like bags and light tables. Definitely a store worth checking out for your camera needs.
Sierra-At-Tahoe
Though it's not as large as other ski resorts, it also lacks the crowds which is a big plus. I really enjoy skiing here because the runs are fun and you can often find that there are only a handful of people on the mountain with you. The lift lines are not long and the staff is nice. The runs are great for beginners as well as more advanced skiers.
Moma Design and Book Store
This store has tons of books on the art featured in the museum. They also have lots of souveniors for MOMA as well as posters of art and lots of knick knacks for the art lovers. You can go to the store even if you don't want to go through the museum.
Pet Care Depot
This store is adjacent to the vet. They have a great selection of pet supplies from crates to grooming supplies. They have high end food which is hard to find in most larger chain pet stores. They have lots of toys, collars, leads, and other accessories. They also have lots of information about various obedience classes. This is a great store for your pet needs.
Geppetto's Cafe
This is a small cafe with limited inside and outside seating. They have really good sandwiches, salads, snacks, and coffee. It's can get crowded at lunch, but the service is quick. The prices are reasonable and you have a great selection of breads for your sandwiches. The servers are very friendly and the food is great.
Frankie Johnnie Luigi Too
I love eating here because it's a fun place with good food and good prices. I usually have a 15% off coupon from a mailer on hand. They have fresh warm bread and butter to munch on while you wait. Everything is tasty from the calzones to the pastas. The service is not slow and the servers are friendly and good about refilling drinks. I always have a good experience eating here.
Numero Uno Taqueria
This is a small taco/burrito shop with inside and outside seating. The service is fast and the food is good. The portions are generous, but don't come with sides - you order those separately. The sauces they offer are yummy and they have specialty drinks in the fridge. In the summer time there can be lots of bees outside, but otherwise it's a great place to eat.
Even Keel Cafe
The food here is excellent. The dinner menu is superb, but the prices are high. For lunch the food is just as good, but the prices are a lot more reasonable. The drinks don't have refills so be aware of that. It's a cute cafe that can get really crowded for dinner. They have computers at the front for pay internet if you need to surf while you wait. They servers are great and the atomsphere is fun.
Brick Oven Pizza
I loved this restaraunt so much I ate here twice during my short vacation. They super pizza is so good. Everything is made to order so the service is a bit slow, but definitely worth the wait. It wasn't very crowded either time I went as take out seems to be a popular choice for locals. There is plenty of seating in the store as well as a good selection of beers, breadsticks, salad, etc. Love it!
Diablo Foods
This is a great local supermarket. It doesn't have the same stuff you find in the large chain grocery stores. They have more organic, alternative, and healthful type foods. The produce and meat department have a great selection of fresh items. It is not very crowded and has helpful staff. They also have other items like flowes, vitamins, and grocery items.
