Charles Gregory Salon
I first encountered Charles Gregory when he was working out of a salon in downtown Atlanta. I was blown away by his standard of service then and now. He offers a full array of custom services and consultations. The location is convient and well-appointed. They provide great service to a wide range of hair types.
PROS: Great location. Great customer service
CONS:
Goodwill Stores
Many people know of Goodwill because of the thrist stores. I am familiar with them for their employment services. I have referred many clients to Goodwill Industries for their employment services. They are partnered with several large companies in the Atlanta area making it easier for the to place workers who face many barriers such as mental illness and disability.
PROS: professionalism, corporate alliance
CONS:
Cactus Car Wash
Considering how busy their location on Ponce gets, I was happy to see the new location at Piedmont open. There are difinite difference between the two. There is less of a hustle to get you in and out at the Piedmont location. They have banks of computers with high-speed connections to keep you busy while you wait. The prices and service are still great but there's just less of that down home car wash feel at this location.
PROS: Price, location, service
CONS:
Sneed Tax Service
I have been using Sneed Tax Service for many years. They have been able to handle my tax needs expertly no matter how complicated the year has been. I have referred countless co-workers and friends because of their amazing prices, fast service and flexible hours.
PROS: Fast! Professional!! High Quality
CONS:
Truck n I
I just bought my first house in January 2006. I called around to find a good mover at a reasonable price. After wading through bad customer service over the phone with many companies, I was impressed with the level of customer care that TrucknI offered. I was completely blown away by the hard, fast and efficient work that the movers did on moving day. Everything was handled with speedy care and attention to detail.
PROS: Price! Speed!
CONS:
Mednikow Jewelers
My sisters and I were looking for a great gift for our mother's 60th birthday. We decided and a great watch but new we would need someone other than a mall chain jewelry store. We made calls around town and settled on Mednikow based on their service on the phone. We were blown aways by their service before, during and after the sale. We are still customers four years later. Molly Mednikow and the rest of the staff are fantastic.
PROS: High-end selection. Perfect Service.
CONS: Pricey
Bigelow's Bar & Grill
No matter how many upscale intown clubs I've been to, I always manage to make my way back to Bigelows. Located just off of I-20 east at Gresham Road, Bigelows is close enough to the city to be convenient. The crowd and staff are always friendly. The drinks are not watered down and taste great. The DJ offers a great selection that makes sure you have a good time. The over-30 crowd is packed with just enough room to dance.
PROS: Great neighborhood club. Low cover charge. Friendly neighbors Good security
CONS: Inadequate parking
Run N Shoot
I love that Run & Shoot is located intown. It has a hiphop vide that is very energetic. I have only been a few times since I have another gym membership but I like going from time to time to change up my routine. The neighborhood is great for the urban pioneer crowd.
PROS: Location, Hot Crowd
CONS:
Lewis & Sheron Textile Co
Lewis and Sheron Textiles have what seems like acres of fabrics. They have leather, upholstery fabric, silks and hundreds of other textiles for all your needs. They prices and variety are what get me through the door. The great service and selection are what keep me coming back.
PROS: Selection!!!
CONS:
Afrodish Restaurant
I work downtown and go to the Curb Market for lunch often. Afrodish has a cafeteria-style line. Depending on what time you show up, the line can wind down the hall. All for good reason. The Afro-Carribean food is great. They have lots of options for vegetarians like me. My favorites include the spinach (spicy!) and jalafah rice. It's in the Curb Market so this is not a high-end place but the food is worth the trip.
PROS: Great food. Amazing prices.
CONS: Less that appetizing surroundings.
