Todai is a decent Japanese buffet restaurant. It's nothing too fancy or extravagent but the food is tasty. Dinner can get kind of pricey, but lunch is cheaper. You can also usually find a coupon, maybe in the mailer.
You should probably go to Todai if you like sushi to get your money's worth.
Lucille's Bar B Que has absolutely amazing ribs! The spicey BBQ sauce is also absolutely to die for. Be sure to buy a bottle on your way out.
Lines can indeed get long during peak times such as during weekend dinners. But during lunch times, there is hardly any wait at all.
Meals aren't on the cheap side; but this is a BBQ house, so you can't expect a mcdonald's price meal.
Pasadena Cyclery is an excellent shop for looking for bikes for your pleasure. The people there are pretty caring and will try to go out of their way to help you find what you're looking for.
The selection is very broad; whether you want a road or mountain bike. Should check it out.
The Queen Mary hotel might be kind of pricey, but where else can you stay in a legendary boat over night without being on the rocking sea. They have restaurants on the boat as well. But the plus side is that you're eating on the Queen Mary ship. So afterwards you can roam around on the boat and look at all of the history and artifacts of the ship.
Or you could just relax on the side of the ship, overlooking the city of Long Beach and Shoreline.
California Teriyaki and Sushi is a great place to grab a quick bite to eat. The sushi is pretty good and it's not that expensive either, especially after 5PM on weekdays when they have a 'happy hour' kind of deal on sushi.
I recommend anything with the salmon or tuna.
