One of the best hotels in Champaign but also expensive. The average price is around $100. The inside is beautiful and clean. It is on the bus route and has McDonald, Fridays, Monica's Pizza, Wendy's, Hooters, etc. around it. Has UPS and USPS mailboxes right outside the door. Next to the southwest side of the UI campus. Near Hessel Park, the best park in Champaign.
I had many years of experience with Sticklen until I find my current insurance company. I like Sticklen in the sense that it can do price comparisons for you and help you to find a cheap insurance. I remember there was one year every insurance companies increased their prices so I asked Sticklen help me to find another insurance company who could provide a lower rate. And yes Sticklen gave me a unknown company (Perkin. I think). I stop having contract with Sticklen around 2 years ago because I found my current insurance company Country insurance and the companies Sticklen had could not beat the price. But I still think it is pretty nice if you can compare many companies at one time. I heard AAA can also do that. Progressive online seems also have a similar service.
I actually prefer to send my film to NY unless there is an emergency. I had couple same films developed by both a company in NY and by Better Image. Unfortunately, Better Image charged a more expensive price but with a poorer result. However, I do think it is nice to have some local choices because sometimes you just don't have enough time to send out a film and wait for them to come back.
She is a Taiwanese dentist specialized in Children's health. But she also has a lot of Taiwanese and Chinese adult patients. I have experiences with at least three dentists around here and I think she is the best. I often went to her for a regular cleansing. It is already comfort and quick. (I went to the other one who also had a good reputation. But that experience was horrible. Painful and bleeding!) The only shortage is you won't get a free treatment if you only have UI student insurance.
I know this center because it has an Art Fair held annually. The quality of the Art Fair is good in terms of the quality but not the quantity. The artists there sell high end crafts so it is good for professors or other local people who have enough money for luxry crafts. I usually treat it as an exhibition and just walk around without buying stuff because I just cannot afford that. It is very nice to know there are some skilled local artists around.
Market Place Plaza is getting better and better. Six years ago I couldn't even find food inside this plaza. (there were only cookie and one restaurant). Now similar to other plazas, there is a food court. The restrooms are really a luxury. Besides four dept stores, we are now have victoria's secret, AE, gap,....The most exciting new store which just opened is Ann Talyer.
The price of this apt is very cheap. But they have something that I cannot stand -- the carpet is old and smelly. So if you are able to have the landlord changes the carpet, I think the price is pretty good. It is on the bus route so is convenient. Near to the north campus of UI and you don't even need to take a bus. Just walk there. Secured building.
In the Market Place we have four dept stores. Famous Barr is relatively high class. The second is the Bergner's. Sears is for senior citizens while JCpenny is for juniors. Famous Barr always has a coupon available if you sign up with their online emailing list. If comparing to big cities, this Famous Barr doesn't not have many selections. Yet, it often has some shoes for 19.99 which is very good. Comparing to Bergner's, it also has more choices for a same brand of cosmetic products.
Meijer has a lot of selections. It was the number one supermarket before Walmart build up two super centers here. Walmart first built up a super center in Savoy (south of Champaign) while Mejier is located at north of Champaign. Now Walmart build up another super center right across Meijer so I believe it is a big threat to Meijer. I hope Meijer can beat up Walmart though. Walmart has too many bad names and I haven't heard one about Meijer.
This theater was dying for several times but thanks god it is still there. It only has one room and only has rarely movies. Tickets are $5.5 each and the movies are mostly exported from aboard. Most of the movies it presents win some awards. Last week it had 2046 from HK (I hate that movie though) and this week it has Good Night and Good Luck. There are not many people going this movie theater (unfortunately) so you don't need to worry about if you can get a ticket. One exception was the week of Fareinheight 911.
