What a great surprise when I walked in to the Big Dogs store. They have a huge selection of Big sizes and a great selection of dog toys. The store is filled with all sorts of deals that I thought maybe they were going out of business. I will be going back to do my holiday shopping there. Can't be the prices and selection.
Located in La Cumbre Plaza, Hopscotch Fine Furnishing has some the cutest childrens furniture I have even purchased. The store set-up is easy to shop through and the staff is so knowledgeable. Prices are more on the high end, but worth it for the very well made furniture pieces. Free parking.
The Santa Barbara Airbus is the only way to get to LAX. They have several pick-up and drop-off locations in town. The buses are always on time (and sometime even arrive early) and the drivers are always a pleasure to deal with. On return trips to Santa Barbara, they always have a taxi waiting for me at my drop-off location. Forget dealing with airport parking & take the airbus!
Lee's Tailoring wins my vote for one of the best tailor shops in Santa Barbara. They seem to always be open (including Saturday and Sunday). They do near to perfect work and always just to my specifications. They have altered some pieces to fit like fine expensive tailored pieces. Fast turn around time too.
Ablitts is one of the best dry cleaners in town. They have consistent customer service that excels many other dry cleaners in the area. Prices are little more but well worth it for the free pick-up and delivery to my job. How they clean up some of the vintage pieces I have, I don't know - but they do a great job!
By far, one of the best clothing stores in Santa Barbara! If you want to find the hippest clothes straight out of pages In Style, Blue Bee has them. The owners are some of the kindest guys in town and always give some of the best customer service around. It's a boutique, so prices are higher than average.
Jesses Shoes And Repair is the only place in town that I will trust with my finest Italian shoes. I have always received great service in timely manner and they have some of best prices in town. Located out on Calle Real, it is easy to find a parking spot and run in (and out) quickly.
This store is filled with sorts of costume delights. One side of the store is filled with vintage clothes and accessories to match while the other side has a large array of costumes. You can also find masks, wigs, make-up and childrens costumes too! The staff is very friendly and helpful.
The Green & Yellow Basket is more than just the name. As a little girl, I always loved going to the store (which has been in business for over 50 years!) to see the vast array of odd objects. As an adult, it is still a fun shop to stop in and browse the clothing, jewelry and of course hats! The selection of ornaments at Christmas is wonderful!
I have had my haircut twice at the Walter Claudio Salon Spa and was disappointed both times. As a Santa Barbara local, I had always heard rave reviews about the salon & staff. The haircut was not what I wanted and I paid almost double the price of my normal salon. Maybe it the was the hair artists but I won't be going back anytime soon.
