D Geller & Son Jewelers

Smyrna, GA Jewelers 09/13/06: 'Not so good'

I expected a lot from them based on the amount of money they put in for commercials. It just wasn't all that. The space inside is tight. The goods were overpriced. We were looking for Celtic style wedding bands. They tried to tell us that no one wears those anymore. I'm sure that's why they had appeared in so many catalogs that we had received on weddings and jewelry.
Your time is better spent elsewhere.

PROS: location
CONS: over priced, claustrophobic

Indie Coffee & Books

Decatur, GA Book Stores 08/21/06: 'Small Independent Bookstore'

Indie Coffee and Books has recently opened in Decatur as of August 18th. Book selection is small, but contains Book Sense bestsellers and classical titles that many schools require for reading in the area. After I chose a book, I bought an iced coffee and sat and read some of it before subjecting myself to the heat and humidity.
On my way out, the manager pointed out to me that there are trivia games here on Monday nights and that students and teachers from Agnes Scott College receive a discount on purchases.

PROS: small, quiet, aiming to be community oriented
CONS: small selection of books

Books Again

It definitely is for some. The have a wide selection of mostly hardcover books and a friendly and knowledgeable staff. When I couldn't understand the guy because of my hearing, he got a paper to explain the sale to me that they were having. I enjoyed the time I spent there browsing and walked out with books that I had never heard of before, but had captured my attention.

PROS: Lots of books, lots of variety in subject matter, friendly & helpful staff

Bambinelli's Italian Rstrnt

Atlanta, GA Pizza Restaurants - Atlanta, GA Italian Restaurants 08/21/06: 'Great Food, Nice atmosphere'

We were made welcome and comfortable from the moment we walked in the door. The atmosphere was such that it was good for both families and couples seeking a romantic dinner. The food was excellent! And the dessert, cannoli , was also made right there on the premises so it was as fresh and wonderful tasting as the rest of the meal.http://bambinellispizza.com/

PROS: Great food, nice people, nice atmosphere
CONS: sometimes long wait for a table

Seventeen Steps

Decatur, GA Gift Shops 08/10/06: 'Gift Shop'

17 Steps is a small interesting gift shop. The design and the content are mostly geared towards women. Here you can find some unique or hard to find gifts, for example a tile magnets with witty and somewhat sarcastic sayings, or special leashes and collars for that dog who must have style. The greeting cards also offer an interesting selection. 17 Steps also carries Vera Bradley purses and accessories. The clearance sales here can be quite good. On the clearance table when I stopped by there were several Vera Bradley items marked 1/2 price as well as assorted seasonal merchandise.

PROS: interesting cards and merchandise to browse through
CONS: small space with lots of merchandise

3 Star Rating - Satisfactory

Sweet Tomatoes

The food itself is satisfactory, but, the management is not. There were people lined up out the door of the restaurant. By the time they got to the cashier, there were no tables left and still a line of people behind them. There was inadequate space to wait for a table as well. The management continued to allow people into the restaurant. They were probably breaking some fire code as well as not taking proper care of their customers and servers.

Leonard G Nelms Pc

Marietta, GA Accounting & Bookkeeping 02/13/06: 'Excellent Tax Preparation'

Mr. Nelms has been doing my families taxes for years. He started with my parents and has since done my taxes and my daughter's taxes. He really knows what he is doing. As of last year, he has the ability to electronically file taxes from his office. Call and make an appointment. He is as flexible as he can be during tax season to meet the needs of his clients.

PROS: Friendly, knowledgeable, lots of parking, flexible

Hicks Casey & Foster Pc

Hicks, Casey and Foster was recommended to me by a friend after a company started to garnish my wages. I had been having financial difficulty due to illnesses in the family. I just didn't have the resources to pay the company I owed and buy food. Mr. Hicks handled my case. He was awesome. I have recommended him to others who tell me they are looking at bankruptcy. He is excellent at what he does. The other lawyers and staff are surely as good at what they do. I know that the paralegals are nice and knowledgeable. I was scared and they had no problem with me calling to ask questions. They were very patient.

PROS: Excellence in law, good with people, lots of parking
CONS:

Reruns Consignment

I have both shopped here and sold stuff on consignment through the store. They are really great when you have children and the budget is tight. When you bring things in for consignment, it's almost like trading in clothes to get something new that will fit your child. When they have their sidewalk sale, the prices are awesome. Reruns is located on East Piedmont Road in Marietta almost straight across from the Kroger shopping center that is on Sandy Plains and Piedmont.

PROS: Good quality clothing, mostly reasonable prices
CONS: last time I was in racks were so close together was hard to navigate

Hudson Medical Group

Dr. Rick Hudson is a doctor of osteopathy (DO). I have appreciated his approach to illness because he has been able to achieve things with me that other doctors could not. Specifically, he has treated me mostly for migraines. He is the only doctor that I saw for migraines that recommended trying blood pressure medicine to cut down on the number of disabling headaches I was having a month. From 10+, I am now down to an average of 3 per month.
DO's also tend to look at the person as a whole, while MD's tend to look at the symptoms and treat that. The approach that DO's have has made a difference in my life.
Dr Hudson's staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. They all treat the patients with respect.
The office itself isn't hard to find. And parking is decent.
Also Dr. Rick knows ASL to facilitate communication with his deaf patients. And the office is open to communication through email as well as by phone.

PROS: Deaf/Hearing impaired friendly, Doctor of Osteopathy
CONS:
