Chi Chi's Pizza Inc
Chi Chi's Restaurant has been here in Santa Clarita longer than I have- over 15 years. They are located on Soledad at the Bouquet/ Valencia intersection. They have great food and great friendly service. They serve a variety of menu items, but my favorite is the pizza. Another good bet is the all-you-can-eat pasta.
Minnie Max Cleaner
Minnie Max is a small chain of dry cleaners in the Santa Clarita Valley. Besides this one on Bouquet Canyon Road there is one on Sierra Hwy and one on Lyons. This Bouquet Canyon one is the most convenient one for me, and I find that there prices are lower than many of the other cleaners in town. I take my dresses to Minnie Max and get good service.

This facility is relatively new, so perhaps that is why they don't seem to be terribly crowded. The facility looks very nice and I've been happy with the facility in general and my doctor in particular so far. One thing that I found interesting is that they don't write you out a paper prescription. Rather, they send it to your pharmacy of choice. There were kinks for me the first time they sent the prescription, but it has been clear sailing since then.
Umali Maria Sandra MD
I went to doctor Umali for several years until my medical plan changed. I believe the Soledad Canyon address listed here is incorrect, as I have seen a new sign for her office on Lyons near San Fernando. Doctor Umali is very thorough, and successfully diagnosed a problem which had been bothering me for several years. She encourages frequent visits, and at one time required quarterly visits in order to refill prescriptions.
Chatham Philip L MD
Oh my gosh Dr Chatham is the best doctor I've ever been to. He takes time to listen to you, he knows your name, and he remebers things you told him on previous visits! And his nurse Mary is so sweet and genuine. I wish all doctors were like doctor Chatham. The only negative is that he routinely runs behind schedule by more than half a hour, but it's worth the wait.
Taira Mark I Dds
My husband went to Dr. Taira for many many years until we recently moved out of the area. Dr Taira is a fantastic dentist. As a matter of fact, my husband made a special trip to get a second opinion when his current dentist recommende some work. Dr. Taira fit us in and charged a nomial fee for the consultation. The office is clean and there is plenty of parking in a large lot.
Red Vest Pizza Parlor
Red Vest has been in Sylmar for at least 15 years, and it's a fun spot for lunch. It's casual atmostphere is great for families and work gatherings. The price is reasonable and the buffet is great for lunch groups that need to eat and get back to work quickly. The bufet includes salad bar, pizza and pasta bar, soup, and a drink. Picnic table style seating is great for large groups.
Presidente Mexican Restaurant
President Mexican Restaurant has been in Mission Hills a long time, at least 15 years. It's great for work groups at lunchtime, as they get you in and out quickly. The food is good, and I especially like their fresh salsa. Parking in their lot can be tight at lunchtime, so arrive a few minutes early to assure a spot. They offer a few american-style dishes on their menu if anyone in your group doesn't want a mexican dish.
L'Affair
This is a really good little French Restaurant, and I've been there several times for lunch. They serve meat and poultry dishes, but their specialty is pasta and seafood. A coworker treated me to lunch at L'Affair once to thank me for some work I had helped him with. It was very nice of him to treat me, but I found it embarassing to tell my coworkers he had taken me to L'Affair for lunch (it sounds too much like the word afffair)!
Pastamichi's
Pasta Michi is a charming Italian Restaurant with both indoor and outdoor seating. I've eaten there several times with groups from work and the food is very tasty. Their dishes include chicken, veal, beef, seafood, and non-meat dishes, so there is something for everyone. You can park behind the restaurant and come in through the back door.
