I love candles! I mean every shape and size! The Colorado Candelebra has a wonderful selection of candles! You just don't see some of these candles anywhere else but here! You walk in the store and you'll be hooked. Again bring your credit cards! :) The selection includes regular candles, oil lamps, bees wax candles the list goes on and on. You can also find goodies that go with candles like snuffers. The store is located "inside" the Old Church Shop Mall so don't miss it as your walking along Elkhorn Ave. Also if it's hot out remember to bring them in. The staff is really nice and they will help package your candles for your trip home!
PROS: Great smelling candles of all types!
CONS: Parking isnt to far away but you will have to walk a ways.
Twisted Pine has two locations in Estes and they both have that wonderful smell of leather. The selection of items made out of leather is huge! If you ride motorcycles you will want to stop they have a great selection of gear. The purses are beautifully crafted! I especially like the jewlery they offer original handwork pieces that are soooo pretty! Yes for the "man" in the group they also have a taxidermy section. Everyone in your group young and old could find something to take home! Prices are a bit high but they are high quality so I didn't mind paying that extra bit. You might even catch a good sale here! Be sure to bring the credit card you will find something you'll want!
PROS: Two locations, great friendly staff, easy parking
You have to make the trip of the side of the mountain on the Aerial Tramway. Once up there the view is beautiful! You can look down on the town of Estes Park and look across and see the Stanley Hotel in all it's glory. You can spend 30 minutes or 4 hours as they have a gift store to browse, a place to buy snacks as you sit down and enjoy the clean mountain air. Prices are reasonable and worth the view! If your feeling adventerous you can even walk one of the trails located behind the tram. I'd suggest walking shoes as it's just to tempting to leave without exploring!
PROS: Wonderful mountain top views!
Macdonalds Bookshop is a very old but familiar face for local's and the tourists. The shop is small but makes it so cozy for browing through the shelves. I would suggest going here if you want good books about the local area and hiking guides. If you need a good book or magazine to read while out by the pool Macdonalds is the place to stop. Don't forget to bring your children here also as they have a great selection for younger kids as well. You can also pick up the local papers and bigger well known papers as well. Don't miss this treasure of a find!
PROS: Excellent staff they know their business!
CONS: Parking can be tough during tourist season.
The Michael Ricker Pewter shop has been in Estes Park for many years. You just won't believe the items they make at the store. You can buy small ornaments up to huge table size and bigger pewter designs. You can also take a tour of the establishment and see how they actually make and design their products. A pewter souvenir from here is a "must have" they are just so detailed and well known. The prices vary depending on size and if they are a limited edition. A great stop while on vacation!
PROS: Beautiful pewter craftmanship! Easy location and parking.
If you love taffy you have to make a stop at the Taffy Shop right on the main strip Saint Vrain. Vacation time is so fun! You can stand outside the big window and watch as the taffy is being stretched and pulled on this big machine. It's amazing it never falls off! :) Once you go inside the assortment of flavors makes it extremely hard to choose from. You can get big boxes to go or just sample items with the prices very reasonable! The taffy makes a great souvenirs as it stays good for a very long time. Mmm can't wait to get back to Estes Park in July!
PROS: wonderful homemade treats!
CONS: parking is hard, wear your walking shoes much easier!
The Apple Tree Mall is next to Applebee's very easy to get to off the strip. The mall is really a consignment shop for crafters and antique enthusiasts. You can spend an hour up to five hours going up and down the aisles looking for treasures! One booth has a great doll exhibit that I always enjoy looking at, the old wooden signs and wagon wheel "country" type decorating is abundant. I even saw a John Deere exhibit there if you collect those items. Wear your walking shoes tons of items to look and check out. The staff is great also they don't follow you around like hawks but prefer to help if you have questions!
PROS: Great variety, all types of craft items and antiques.
We used Paul's Printing for all our office products. Stationary, envelopes, invitations you name it they could print it! The salesman is wonderful and if you get stuck with no ideas he will offer great suggestions. Paul's Printing also doesn't over sell! If you don't need something they aren't going to push it just to make that extra buck they really care about their customers and want repeat business. One time a misprint was made and it was the company's fault. Customer service was awesome as they made the mistake right and corrected it with no charge to us. I was totally impressed! If you have printing needs this is the one stop shop for you!
PROS: Great customer service, high quality products
Coffelt's is a great place to stroll around and look at all the different venders. The stores each have their areas in buildings so it's different as in not all under one roof. You can find childrens toys, to lawn ornaments, to specially made shoes. Cofflets has it all! I would recommend going late morning when it's not to hot out and enjoy yourself. Leave plenty of time to browse! The prices are reasonable and some of the same things are higher priced elsewhere in Branson. Coffelt's is a fun place to explore!
PROS: Easy parking, great store owners and staff!
I've attended OTC for three semesters now getting my basic classes so I can transfer to a four year college. I tell everyone to go to OTC esp if your a first time college student. The teachers are fantastic, you don't get lost in big huge classes and all the resources are out there for you to succeed with your goals. The only bad thing is Branson needs to do something with a "tax" bill (?) to allow Branson residents going to the off campus location be considered in district. We pay a higher fee because of this not being passed. You can certainly earn a excellent college education at this Community College. The Branson campus has excellent office staff that does everything from answering questions to helping you fill out class schedules. Going back to school? Start here!!!
PROS: Great staff, easy parking, wonderful teachers!
CONS: Not considered
