Mark does an excellent job cleaning carpets, but is honest & caring, as well. He doesn't use smelly chemicals. Works within your budget. He did some carpet cleaning for my elderly mother (who is on a very limited budget), and charged her very little for all the work he did.
PROS: Cares about his customers, reasonably priced
Always appreciate the honesty of the repairmen sent out. Have had work done on our hot water heater. They scheduled the appointment at our convenience and show up when scheduled. When we had to replace our water heater, the job was done quickly. They don't pad their labor time or try to sell you unnecessary extras.
PROS: Honest, fair , reliable
One of the very few places in the Triad that repairs Beam central vacs. I called and described the problem and was told if I could bring in the unit, it would be much less expensive. They explained how to disconnect. Work was done quickly and cost less than I anticipated. Have used on more than one occasion - always fast & reliable. You can also order parts from them if you want to do the repair work yourself.
I have found a few really good bargains here, but you can do better on many things at other stores' sale prices. You have to watch expiration dates on food and drug items. The store is filled with such a strong cigarette smell that I had to let everything I bought air out before bringing it into the house. And the smell got in my clothes and hair, even if I didn't stay very long. In the end, I found it just wasn't worth it.
PROS: Some good deals can be found
CONS: The smell!
I was hesitant to spend alot on plants and shrubs, and this nursery is a little pricey. But one of their coupon offers drew me in. The selection of plants and shrubs is extensive. You can spend the day trying to see everything. I ended up purchasing some shrubs, and they have really grown large and full. Prices are definately more expensive than Walmart or the home improvement stores. But when you see how much better the plants and shrubs grow and how much healthier they are, I think you'll find you are getting your money's worth.
PROS: Selection, Quality
This outlet shopping center has one of the largest selections of stores I have seen. It is just off I-79, between Erie & Pittsburgh. Well worth it to stop and stretch your legs when traveling. Shops are divided into several areas. There are directories so you can easily locate any store. You do have to walk outside to get from store to store - and it is a lot of walking from one end to the other. There is lots of parking. Restrooms are well kept. There is also an area to walk your pet.
PROS: Large number of outlet stores
CONS: Lots of walking
The mall is actually laid out so you walk in a circle. The stores are divided into different areas, with color coded signs to help you navigate. Maps are provided, as well. Lots of outlet stores, food court and restaurants. It has a wonderful chocolate store - which is a personal favorite. Mallway is kept very clean, although the restrooms need more attention. Music is sometimes a little too loud. Very easy to get to - right off the interstate - and easy to get out of. The huge parking is well marked.
One of the largest malls in NC. Pleasant atmosphere. Huge selection of stores - includes all major department stores in the area. Many upscale stores. Even has a carousel for the kids. One thing I do not like is to get from one end of the mall to the other, you have to go through JC Penney. Very inconvenient, as you can't go throught the store in a straight line. Ample parking is available. However, this mall is located in one of the most congested areas in the city.
Usually has a good supply of current books and popular authors. Paperbacks sell for half the cover price. Rather crowded, but fairly well organized by category. Also has a children's section. Good place to turn in your used paperbacks for credit. Last time I was there, the owner only took a couple of my books in trade. However, she said if I wanted to donate the rest to the local library, she would take them there. That saved me trip. Parking is very poor, the lot on one side is mostly potholes.
PROS: Cheap paperbacks
Three floors of great shopping, with several upscale specialty stores. Very well kept up. On weekday mornings or early afternoons, there are no crowds to battle. Avoid Friday and Saturday nights. One of the most convenient features is the post office on the third floor. Parking is pretty good, except during the holidays. The back parking lot, which access the second level, is easiest to get in and out of. If using the front lot, sometimes it takes awhile to get out, as the convention center shares the parking lot. A covered parking garage is also available.
