New, young, hip owners recently took over this little suburban Chinese/Asian restaurant in Gilbert formerly known as Grand China. They spruced it up with some new, sophisticated paint colors, new lighting, and a more modern, fast-casual approach to eating out. They simplified the menu choosing to include only the most popular Asian dishes. A similar ordering style to Pei Wei, customers get to choose the meat (or veggie only) that goes in their dish of choice. The prices can't be beat, and the lunch combos are a steal!
Try the Lo Mein noodles. Perfectly done.
PROS: great tasting food and excellent portions for very low prices
It's difficult to find traditional German fare here but this cute little place is great. They have a yummy and unique salad bar and a wonderful menu. We've entertained friends and colleagues here several times with rave reviews. Make reservations if you have a group. We've rarely had to wait, but when we did, it was awhile, although worth every minute.
PROS: Food, menu
CONS: a bit dark inside, can be a long wait when busy (but worth it)
Hungry for sushi? You'll get huge pieces for very reasonable prices. The quality is excellent. Try the squid salad - it's awesome. If you would rather have your food cooked, enjoy a fun night at the Teppan Tables. Go early or late though; the place is packed at peak hours. It's not unusual to have to wait an hour for a table or a spot at the sushi bar on a busy night.
PROS: Food, service, fun atmosphere
CONS: Long waits possible on busy nights
Changing Hands moved to their present location a few years back and turned a strip mall space into a tranquil, charming shop with unique treasures tucked into all sorts of little nooks and crannies.
Although the decor leaves a lot to be desired, the food and service at this local Chinese restaurant is excellent and quite a deal. Prices are more than reasonable. Be adventurous and try a dish off the "blue menu."
PROS: food, service, locally owned
