If you're interested in seeing a great play performed by some very good actors, be sure to go to the Boulder Dinner theatre. You can either sit in a small table for an intimate evening. Or, share a larger table with others. Maybe make some new acquaintances. The dinner menu is small and offers a slim variety, but overall it is not bad. Definitely a great deal for the money.
PROS: Small theatre so it makes it easy to see the stage.
CONS: The menu never seems to change.
This place was wonderful. Constant entertainment that gave you the real feeling of being in the middle of an excellent performance. All this great entertainment, clowns, acrobats, trapeze stars, etc. along with a wonderful multi-course meal. The best thing about it was that you could eat one course and see performers, eat another course -- onto other performances. Dress to enjoy the entertainment and the environment. It's definitely one-of-a-kind experience that shouldn't be missed.
PROS: Great entertainment along with some really great food.
CONS: You can't pick your seats -- they seat you 'wherever'.
Ride through town and see many sites including a place where the Beatles were able to fish out of their hotel room window. Go by the Space Needle. When you hit the water, you'll see the boat house that was used during the filming of Sleepless in Seattle -- how fitting. Enjoy riding out the city then a boat trip through the Lake without ever leaving your seat. One of the best ways to tour. This is truly fun for the entire family.
PROS: Two trips in one -- on land then in the water.
CONS: It's so fast on land, sometimes difficult to see what is announced to view.
This is a way to take a really quick tour of the city. Believe me, it's quick. Much too fast to get any good pictures until you hit the water. It is informative. They take you by several interesting locations, including the Cheers Bar. Unfortunately, it's not the one that was used to film the TV series. You'll see local landmarks, beautiful old architecture, take a look at where Rose Kennedy lived, and many more things. If you drove, you'd probably miss most of the city -- ride the Duck and enjoy more!!
PROS: Definitely a time saver that covers a wide area of the city.
CONS: It is so fast. Don't try to photograph, just enjoy the sites.
While at the Laugh Factory we were able to see one of the Stacked (with Pamela Anderson) TV stars, Elon Gold. He was very amusing and personable. He didn't hesitate to sign autographs for us. He appeared on stage with two other, equally good, comediennes. I asked one of the other stars for his autograph and he actually left to get me a photograph that he signed, that was so sweet. Be sure to take your camera, you're allowed to take pictures during the performances.
PROS: Easy to find, right on the corner of the block.
CONS: No parking. Use the valet, it's even cheaper than the nearby parking lots.
We went to Wits End for New Year's. The show we saw with four comediennes was great. Actually, the comedy itself was pretty clean, not vulgar or disghusting as I've seen at other places. They served a buffet style meal after the New Year's toast. Not real impressd with the food, mostly sndwich type foods, some finger foods. Keep your champagne glass in the food line, they do refill it for you -- but once you sit down -- pretty much, no more champagne.
PROS: Very inexpensive way to spend a New Year's Evewith good entertaining.
CONS: Right after the countdown, they really try to rush you out of the building.
There are so many animals that you really get to see up-close-and-personal. The octupus in the glass enclosure actually moved while we were visiting. We got pictures that look like it's getting ready to crawl right on me. Be ready to spend plenty of time at the Sea Horse exhibit. There's so many different beautiful kinds. They actually do a shark research out of this aquarium. Be ready to see some great sea animals and to learn things you may never have known before.
PROS: The glass exhibit afford you an extremely close look at different sea life.
CONS: Parking is really difficult to find, be prepared.
This place was awesome. You see all kinds of planes, insidr and outside of the building. Actual planes, not just pictures. They show the history of pilots, licenses, clothing, propellers, engines -- everything through the years of their many changes. Some days, during certain times you can see the Concord, and an Air Force One plane. This is definitely worth visiting. Be prepared to spend many, many hours. Maybe even consider returning more than once.
PROS: Informative, entertaining, great for the whole family.
CONS: So big, can't se it all in one day.
This museum left everything to be desired. It was not what I expected. It had a lot of pictures -- which should have been advertised as an art museum. Not many artifacts of the past, just black and white stills. I was completely disappointed. The best part of the whole experience was the very expensive gift shot and a puzzle. Best time to go -- when admission is free, save your money so you won't be as disappointed.
PROS: They have some good things in the gift shop.
CONS: The museum was not what I had expected, not enjoyable for my family.
The Locks are where salt water and fresh water meet and all kind of water vessels pass through. It was very amazing to see the water levels go up and down right before your eyes. They have steps that the salmon jump to go to spawn. The Chittenden gardens are gorgeous, if you time your visit during the spring. They also have some huge birds that next in the garden trees. A wonderful place to learn.
PROS: Great place to take the entire family and it's free.
CONS: parking can be difficult, gotta get there early or else you park far.
