This is one of the many daycares we reviewed before I went back to work once our first daughter was born, and right away we knew this was not the place for us. First of all, the daycare seems to be located in an old storefront, which is not a very child-friendly environment. The many cribs in the infant room were stacked against the wall in a very crowded manner. What really turned us off was the high staff turnover - no teacher seemed to stay for longer than 6 months. We just wanted something better for our baby.
I bought my mom's birthday present at this store, and I was impressed with the wide selection of hand-crafted items from all over the world. I ended up getting her a beautiful embroidered scarf from India for about $65. This store is very big on Fair Trade, and the staff will happily talk to you about it, if you ask them. They have lots of jewelry and artifacts and artistic items. Reasonable prices, with something in everyone's price range.
What a wonderful little gift shop! This cute little store offers picture frames, cards, clothing items, art pieces, and more - all with a cat theme. Perfect (purrfect??) for that cat lover in your life. They also sell items FOR cats - collars, dishes, toys, treats and more. There is always a cute kitty or three lounging about in the store, and the fun employees are chatty and friendly. The prices are reasonable, but there is only off-street parking, no parking lot.
This is a very fine, unique gift shop that sells a lot of different and eclectic items. Yes, some of the items are made from hemp and yes, the staff does support the legalization of marijuana, BUT all that being said - if you need a beautiful handcrafted piece of jewelry or a unusual clothing item, check this place out! They also have candles that I've used for gifts several times. The staff is friendly and helpful. Ample parking off-street.
For all the hoopla surrounding this store, it's really not that wicked of a place! :) Everything you might need for a bachelorette party (which is why I went in the first place) from edible underwear to fur-trimmed handcuffs, from naughty card games to lotions and oils. There are some videos for sale, as well as other 'toys' - but if you don't want to see that section of the store, it is easily avoided. The staff is friendly and helpful, and not at all shy about asking you if you need help. Parking is on the street only. Strange store hours - call before you go.
There isn't enough space to rave about the wonderful education our daughter is receiving at Fort Wright Elementary. She started at the half-day kindergarten program last year, and everyone from her teacher and the principal to the bus driver and cafeteria workers ensured that she had a successful day. Her teachers are kind and caring, and work to make sure that each child's individual needs are being met. It's a wonderful school, and being a former school teacher, I'm VERY picky. I'd recommend this school to anyone!
This is one of the most sought-after preschools in the area, and for good reason. The teachers at Wise Owl are well-trained and patient, kind and structured. I felt very safe dropping my child off at school each morning, and picked up one happy 3-year-old a few hours later. The teachers were patient with potty-training needs and the children made lots of crafts. An excellent beginning to any child's school career!
My parents got me a gift certificate to this salon, and I had such an enjoyable experience! I received a massage (retail value ~$65) which was both very relaxing and very professional. My masseuse was well-trained and couldn't have been any better. I left there feeling like a million dollars! This salon also offers hair services, and I'd be eager to try those out in the future. It's a beautiful salon with ample parking and reasonable prices.
Tanya's is a great place to go in Cincinnati for a up to the moment haircut or expert dye job - just be prepared that the prices aren't cheap. But it's worth it! Haircuts for women run about $38, and they have an entire list of beauty treatments and spa services, ranging from facials, waxing and nail services. My husband gets me gift certificates here and I always have fun using them! Parking is easy. Call a few weeks before you want to go in, as appointments can be tricky to get.
This is the church I have attended for the past 6 years, and I'm really pleased with the traditional services and accepting atmosphere. Father Ron is an excellent priest who is caring and compassionate. The church is beautiful inside and the people are kind. There are excellent educational programs for preschoolers on up, and a great child care room for kids 3 and under. There is no parking lot, so you may have to walk a bit - but it's worth it!
