Normas Place

We LOVE Normas Place for Mesican food. Anything we've had there has been wonderful. Their breakfast tacos (especially the bean and cheese) are just to die for. Great family environment, comfortable seating and very clean. Waitstaff is always very nice and accomodating. We usually take our family and friends to Normas when they come in from out of town. Everyone loves it.

La Vernia United Methodist Church

La Vernia United Methodist Church is a wonderfull church. Lots of family activities and programs for the children. My children both attend their Mothers Day Out program and I cant say enough good things about this either. My oldest is in Pre K now and absolutely loves going to school there. Everyone is friendly and we enjoy the time we spend there.

A-Action Aire

We have had wonderful experiences with A Action Aire. They put our AC unit in when we purchased our home and we have never had problems with it. We have used them for servicing as well and they are always very prompt and efficent. Service calls are comparable with others in the area, but I prefer to use A Action Aire because of their employees and service technicians. They are always very pleasant and very courteous. I'm never worried when I'm home alone and they come to the house to fix or service our unit. They are very honest and I highly recommend them to anyone.

la Vernia Dry Cleaning & Laundry

If you need a dry cleaner in the area, I highly recommend La Vernia Dry Cleaning. They do an excellent job, no matter what you need. They are also able to get stains out that I would have never thought would come out. You can drop off and get back your laundry the same day. Have been doing business with them for several years and I highly recommend their dry cleaning and repair services. Workers are very nice and pleasant. FIVE stars!

PROS: Quick turn around time - no extra charge!
CONS: A bit pricier than some.

Witte Museum

Witte is a wonderful museum that has been in San Antonio for many years. They have travelling museums that will come to the Witte several times a year for special ocassions. They also will have special shows for children, which are wonderful for little ones around the age of 3-4. Beautiful scenery surrounds the museum and the San Antonio Zoo is nearby as well. Museum prices can be high at times, but there are coupons available frequently which brings the price down considerably. I have known several people to have gotten married here as well, so that's another option for some people. The weddings have been beautiful.

PROS: San Antonio legend, moderately priced. Good for kids.
CONS: Charge for children

South Paw Tattooing and Body Piercing

I have had two tattoos from Southpaw, on two seperate ocassions. Their artists are wonderful. The studio is well stocked with designs for you to chose from, or you can bring in your own. I have used two different artists there, both of which (I believe) are no longer there, but their facility is VERY clean. No worries at all about sanitation. No appointment necessary, but you can make one if you will be having a long session or extensive work done.

PROS: Clean studio - dont have to worry about dirty equipment!
CONS: Prices have been a bit high, but well worth it.

Methodist Healthcare System

I can honestly say that I enjoyed being at Methodist Hospital!!! Their staff was wonderful. I had my second child there. Staff was always very pleasant and conducted business in an efficent manner. Always taking your feelings into consideration. Their Labor and Delivery rooms were superb!!! I had a private room - it was a bit small, but was adequate for me, baby and husband. Also hold child birth and parenting classes on site, which was very informative and educational.

PROS: Caring staff, clean rooms
CONS: Private room was pricey, but worth it.

Universal City Animal Hospital

Always had good experiences with this clinic. The doctor is very compassionate and caring when it comes to your pet. Prices are reasonable and they are easy to work with if you are unable to afford a certain procedure. Staff are knowledgeable and kind. Carry special needs items that my animals require daily. Not my regular clinic, but one that I do like to use when necessary. Would recommend this veterinarian if you live in the area. Very good experiences here.

PROS: Great staff
CONS: Older office, but decent location.

Jairo Chavez, DDS

The dentist that was the head of this establishment a few years back was excellent. As far as I know, the doctor has since moved and is no longer practicing at this location. Hygentists are great. I did feel I was pressured for some cosmetic type dental work that was not medically necessary - I didnt get anything done, but I didnt like being pressured. It especially bothered me because the dentist felt he needed to point out a flaw that I never thought was a "flaw". Would go back, if necessary, but would search around to find another dentist.

PROS: Nice office, employees are nice
CONS: High pressure sales for things that dont need to be done.

Lovely Nails

I have been using Lovely Nails for nearly 13 years! All of their staff is very knowledgable in nails and I have never once had any bad experiences there. They now have spa pedicures as well as the traditional pedicures. They also do manicures and nail art. The nail art is just gorgeous. Highly recommend. They have recently expanded into waxing as well. I highly recommend Lynn - she is great.

PROS: Great prices, walkins are welcomed
CONS: If you walkin, sometimes you have to wait, but that's expected.
