This is my favorite place to go for Chinese food. The people who own the store are always friendly, polite, and willing to provide special accommodations for those who can't have certain ingredients or spices. The atmosphere is very calm and family oriented. Although Chinese food can be expensive, the prices there are no worse than anywhere else, and if you pick up one of their menus, you can grab any of several coupons good for a discount or free food with a minimum purchase. I would definitely recommend visiting this restaurant. I liked it so much that I had my rehearsal dinner there, and it was fantastic.
The stylists at Seoul Hair Salon are awesome. They are always willing to work with you to get you in if you are in need of a hair cut or dye or style at the last minute. My Maid of Honor decided to have her hair styled there for my wedding, and she looked amazing. My favorite stylist is Bonnie B, but I have seen many others do a great job. Not only that, but if you decide within a few days that you just didn't get what you expected, you can go back and ask that they fix it for free!
New to You is a great store to visit for used and vintage clothing. Unlike some thrift stores, it only sells clothing that is in very good condition. It carries such things as women's dresses and casual wear, men's slacks and jeans, shoes, and jewelry, plus a whole lot more. The people who work there are always very nice, and they have come to know me (even though I only go in about five times per year) because I opened up an account with them. Once I opened an account, I was able to drop off my own used clothing for them to sell, and they pay me a portion of what they make on my clothing each month. I would definitely recommend going to this store if you delight in vintage clothes or thrift stores.
The College Park Bagel Place can be found in the area of the University of Maryland campus. It boasts a great variety of bagels, from plain to chocolate to cinnamon raisin, and many different types of cream cheese. While you are picking up a dozen bagels, you can order different types of bagel sandwiches and even get some coffee. If you are in the mood to eat there, the atmosphere is very laid back. From what I have seen, most of the employees are students at the university, and they have always been attentive, patient (when we can't decide what sounds the best!), and polite. Their bagels are moderately priced, but for the taste and freshness you get with these, you won't even notice.
University Christian Church is a Disciples of Christ Church that welcomes members and visitors, alike, with open arms. It is an open-minded church that accepts people from different races, socioeconomical backgrounds, and places. Many different interpretations of the Word of God are brought to this church, and together the members work through what we are meant to do and be while on this earth. The minister who had been there for over 30 years has just retired, so they are going through a period of change, but the congregation is a great one that will pull through together and thrive.
Learning How is often viewed as a store geared toward younger children, but middle and high school teachers can get a lot out of shopping there, too. They carry a wide variety of teaching and classroom supplies, and their merchandise is broken down into different subjects and themes. One of the problems I do have with the store is that it is often a bit of a mess. Employees do not seem to regularly straighten up after customers, and this can make it a little difficult to find what you are looking for. The other problem I have with the store is that many of their prices are a little high. Some of the basic materials you can find there can be found cheaper at other, larger stores.
The Adelphi Pool is a wonderful place to buy a membership for the summer and enjoy spare moments relaxing by their large pool, playing volleyball or ping pong with friends, or playing with your children in the baby pool. Membership fees may seem a little high at first, but the quality of the pool makes up for it. Children can join the swim team up through high school and excercise while competing for ribbons and other awards. Overall, the environment is wonderful, and the establishment is never too crowded, dirty, or otherwise unpleasant.
The Pet Loft is a good store to visit for most of your basic pet needs. The store is very well-kept, and the merchandise selection is good. They carry some things that other pet stores do not. For instance, I needed to buy feeder rats, but most regualar pet stores do not sell them. Not only does this store sell them, but they are at a very good price. Also, the employees have always been very helpful.
My family has been taking pets to this vet for about 20 years. Even though we have encountered many different people there over the years, we have always been pleased with their knowledge and ease with animals. They do not charge any more than most vets, they take wonderful care of the animals that board there, and everyone seems to truly enjoy working with the animals. Additionally, sometimes you can adopt a cat or dog that has been abandoned to them, and you only have to give them a donation for the animal. I would definitely recommend taking your four-legged friends to this vet.
I have often visited this gas station on my way to I-495, and things are usually acceptable. The price of their gas falls in the moderate range. I have never seen it the highest, but I have also seen many nearby gas stations with slightly lower prices. The few attendants I have had to deal with have always been pleasant. The only real downside is the set up of the station. With three ways to enter the small area, people are often having small fender benders trying to avoid hitting people, pumps, or other cars.
