Raulins Bakery used to be one of my favorite places to go for special treats. Their baked goods were always very good, those who worked there were always very nice, and the business supported the community. Within the past two years, however, Raulins came under new management, and things haven't been the same since. The quality of their items is not quite as good, and the new manager doesn't seem to be interested in promoting community spirit. Overall, I'd recommend visiting Raulins if you've never been, but for someone who remembers it a few years ago, it isn't as good as it used to be.
In an area where some things are going a little down hill, this school has continued to rise to the challenge of educating the youth of Beltsville and the surrounding cities. The teachers are highly qualified, and the principal has been there for numerous years. Students leave the school with a good foundation with which to begin middle school.
Although Barbara's flowers is located in a building that looks like it needs some work, the business is far from needing assistance. I visited Barbara's flowers to choose flowers for my wedding, and I was very happy with what I received. The owner, herself, sat down with us and helped us choose the right flowers, and she never pushed us to buy anything we didn't really want. On the day of the wedding, the owner also came to the reception hall to make sure everything was in order. She was always very nice to us, and the flowers we received were gorgeous. I would highly recommend visiting this business.
The only food I have tried at Pal Jack's is the pizza. It is always very good. The wait is never long, and the employees are always nice. However, after visiting the bathroom at Pal Jack's on my last visit, I vowed never to return. Even though the food may be good, the bathroom looked like it hadn't been cleaned in years. If I had been forced to use it, I don't believe I would have washed my hands for fear of getting them dirtier than they were. So, while the food was always decent, I wouldn't recommend going to this establishment because if they don't keep their bathrooms clean, I wouldn't want to know how they treat their kitchen.
PROS: Good food
I have been going to this doctors' office for many years now, and I have always been happy with them. I really like that there are several different doctors from which to choose, and while I have two favorites, I have had appointments with two others and were very happy with them, as well. When I have a question about medicine or symptoms, I can always call their help line, and the nurses I have spoken to over the years have always been very nice and helpful. I would definitely send a friend to this establishment.
There were so many things wrong with my one and only trip to this restaurant that I don't know where to start. The only positive thing was that we didn't have to wait too long for a table. Perhaps that was because others were smart enough not to visit this establishment. First, our plates and utensils were all dirty; they all contained the remnants of food from the previous user. Then the waitress seemed irritated that we asked for new ones. It took forever for anyone to ask us for our order, and it took even longer for someone to finally bring it out. Then we began eating only to discover that the plain, cheese pizza we had ordered was really a spinach pizza. When we were finally able to get the attention of our waitress, she wanted to argue about what we had ordered. At this point, we were afraid of what they might do to our food if we returned it, so we finished the original pizza. In the end, the waitress was rude to us and decided she would get the manager to help us out. To her credit, she did try to make amends by offering us a free dessert, but at that point, all we wanted to do was get out of there. I would not recommend this place to anyone.
This restaurant is surprisingly good, considering it is located in a strip mall with stores like Giant and CVS. The wait has never been long, the atmosphere is friendly and family-oriented, and the food that I have gotten there has always been decent. However, considering that the food is not always excellent, the prices are a little high on some items.
My Friend's Closet is a thrift store that sells clothing, toys, books, household items, and other various odds and ends. The prices at the store are relatively good for what they are selling, and the quality of their items ranges from new with tags to very used. If you sign up for their mailing list, you will often receive discount coupons in the mail, and this is always a wonderful addition to the special sales they already have. For me, the best thing about shopping here is knowing that the money from their sales is given to a charity.
