I love living in the Rochester/Henrietta area. With all of the attratctions and knowledge as accessbile as it is, my choices are endless. The Rochester Public Library is just another one of those places that I spend a lot of my time. This is one of those places that I like to relax at with a cup of coffee after work. It is not the quick in-and-out type of setup as other places. With great views of the surrounding city scape and wide open design, I find it calming and the perfect enironment for persona enlightenment.
Going to RIT, I have two options. Either I buy my textbooks on campus or I go to Rochester Text and save at least 20%. They usually don't have the book I am looking for at the store (which is a suprise - they expanded recently and have a HUGE selection of books to choose from), but they can order them for you. I expected this process to take a week or so but they called me in just a day and a half after I visited and ordered it. THe book was in used condition and 75% cheaper than I found anywhere else. Try shopping here before anywhere else if you want great prices and good service!
I am in my 4th year of the Information Technology program here at RIT. I am from the Rochester area and there was no doubt that I was going to this college. They have such a great reputation in the area and from the time I have been here I can see why. Although the tutition is high, you get what you pay for. In most cases, classes are very personalized, the staff is knowledgable, fair, and just average people. I have no regrets about attending this college. I will be graduating in just 3 months and feel that I have the knowledge and professional backing to be placed into the workforce as soon as I am out. I don't think I will have any problem getting a job and that is something I am proud of!
When you go to Lowes or Home Depot you don't get very personalized attention, if you can find any help at all. WHen you visit a small lumber yard such as this you expect to find much more personalized help. You find that and much more here. You can ask these guys anything you could think of from gutter shortcuts, to different types of siding, or the best way to insulate the home to save money in the winter and find professional, knowledgable experience. Stop in there and have a chat for awhile to see what I mean.
I lived at Henrietta Highlands for one year with my girlfriend and my best friend from high school. The apartment cost $700 per month which we obviously split 3 ways which worked out great for all of us. They were extremly nice from the beginning and made the process of renting our first apartment very easy (I had lived in the dorms and in RIT apartments but never off campus before). I have absolutely no complaints with them and would highly recommend for anyone in the area to take a look at the apartments. They all have new kitchen stoves, cupboards, dishwasher, food disposal, a balcony, etc. You also get a storage area in the basement which was defintly a bonus. Give them a try!
Sometimes I find it difficult to find what I am looking for in large libraries like the one in Henrietta. However, with knowledgable and friendly staff such as these, it makes my life much easier. In general, I stop in after work and do not have the time to spend searching for what I am looking for. Whether it is an osbcure novel or a technical manual for the computer networking systems at work they are able to quickly directly me to the area (and sometimes right to the book instantly) that I am looking for. WIth a staff like this it is no doubt that I will continue to use this resource to its full advantage while I live in the Rochester area!
With the costs of new movies increasing all around to 8 and 9 dollars per ticket, I am finding it hard to go to the movies anymore. Luckily there are discount theatres out there like Regal. With its clean atmosphere and new movies at a reasonable price it is easy to take my entire family out for a relatively cheap night (assuming we eat before we leave - we all know how expensive movie theatre food is). I will continue to go there often and recommend it to anyone looking for a fun time at a good cost.
I can't remember how many times I've visited Henrietta Hots after midnite to get the famous cheesburger plate with everything and extra hot sauce. It is a great atmosphere to eat in and just hang out and they don't mind if you spend a couple hours there just socializing as long as you don't get out of control and disrespectful. Great food and a fun college atmosphere in the RIT area!
Although they are one of the only vets in the East Henrietta area, I have never had a problem getting my pets in for their checkups and shots. They always provide a warm-hearted service at a resonable price. On one instant they even let me come in 15 minutes after they closed since that was the only time that would work for me at that point in time. Simply great service!
I got in a collision with a deer several months ago now. My car was driveable but it needed some major repairs. Unfortunatly I absolutely need my vehicle for work 6 days a week and couldn't be without it. They put 8 hours straight of work into this vehicle one day when I was at work to get it to perfect working condition. They then dropped it off to me at work so that I had nothing to worry about. Amazing service from a great company!
