We were looking for a place to host our community party and chanced upon this school's auditorium. Our needs were to seat about 200 people with a stage for performance and the Independance Elementary school's auditorium fit the bill. The school is part of the growing Lakota school district and is easily approachable from most of the areas in Cincinnati. For the price (about $400), this was a great value. It had a beautiful stage with mechanized curtains. Chairs and tables were provided and the school staff were very helpful. We plan to come back if we need to rent a hall.
This is a group of 10 physicians specializing in gastroenterology. I have had consultations with Dr. Greg Anderson and he has been caring and easy to talk to. They have offices all around the Cincinnati area and it is easy to find an office close to your home. They offer all the usual GI procedures such as colonoscopy, endoscopy etc. My opinion is that they take a conservative approach to treatment - medicines that have been proven for decades. Would recommend to others.
I went to this dentist based on recommendations from people at work. I have been going there for the past 4 years. Though the office is small, the staff were friendly and the atmosphere puts you at ease. Dr. Glockner is very patient and listens to what you have to say. The cleaning is usually done by another person specialized at this task. The dentist does the more complicated work such as fillings and caps. I have had both done at this place. I have been especially satisfied with the cap. The cap was for a chipped front tooth and he did a great job in matching color and material. It has been more than 3 years since then and I have no complaints.
This is a great place to shop for health food items and alternative medicines. They have a good stock of homoeopathic medicines, herbal supplements and aromatherapy products. I have bought probiotic supplements, enzymes and a few other herbal supplements and have been satisfied with the purchase. The quality is great and the price is reasonable. The store also stocks facial care, body care and health care products. They also have a section of unadulterated organic food such as cereals etc. Look out for their coupons for $5 off $25 purchase in the local "Reach" magazine from time to time.
Cowan Lake is a great place to get away from it all and withdraw into nature's quiet confines. The Ohio state parks authority operates 27 cottages along the lake. We stayed a couple of days in one of these cottages. The cottages are fully furnished and can sleep 4. They have heating and air-conditioning, two bedrooms, bath, living area with a sofa bed, complete kitchen, dining area and screened porch. There are trails around the park even a small beach for those who like to take a swim.
Regardless of the season, sharon woods park has something to offer. Durig Spring and Fall, you can take on the various hiking trails in the park or use the parcourse fitness trail that has 18 exercies stations. There are also reservable picning areas if you have a large group of friends. Sharon woods also has an 18 hole golf course. During summer, kids will love the water park/wet playground. There is also a harbour area where pedal boats and row boats can be rented. I haven't tried fishing myself, but have heard that this is a great place for fishing. The center also rents bicycles.
During winter, the park's christmas lighting is very famous in the area.
Altogether, a great place for a fun family outing.
Eastgate woods is the first place I stayed in when I moved to the Cincinnati area. It is situated in a great location right off state route 32, in a wooded area. The rent is very economical for this area. The apartments are built in blocks of sixteen with 3 such blocks for each unit. Every unit has a washer/dryer room located in the basement of the middle block. Utilities are included in the rent. Each apartment has cable TV connections. There is also a club house and swimming pool available for residents.
It is also close to the busy Eastgate shopping area.
I have lived in Shayler Glen Apartments for about 2 years. It was a great experience. The management was simply superb and the maintenance staff excellent. The apartments are spacious (about 1100 sq ft) and you can choose a view of the woods if they are available. A small creek runs adjacent to the complex. It is bounded with woods on 2 sides and Shayler Road on the other side.
Each apartment has a store room with a lock. Utilities are extra, but water is included in the rent. There are 2 parking lots allotted per apartment and they are marked. Guest parking is also available in a separate section.
The apartments are easily accessible to the busy Eastgate shopping area. There is also a park nearby. Overall, a great place to stay.
As with any car purchase, it is always better to do a lot of research and shop around before deciding on a particular dealer to go with. For my first car purchase, I used Beechmont Toyota and have been satisfied with the overall purchase. I called most of the dealers in the area to ask about the price of the model I was interested in and also got the invoice price for that model on the web. Later, I sat down with the Beechmont Toyota salesman and bargained with him to match the lowest price. I got what I asked for, but the dealer tried to sell some extras such as rust inhibitors and such. I later came to know that this is his way of getting back some money. But, I was naive, being a first time buyer and agreed to a couple of services. Overall, a satisfactory buying experience.
Their service department is overpriced, though.
Mazel stores (pronounced MAYzell) are small stores selling brand name items at discounted prices. The aisles are filled with microwaves, portable stereos, scented candles, cooking items, gift items etc. Brands include Mikasa, Magnavox, Pfaltzgraff and Revere. You will get some great deals on these items if they are in stock at Mazel. We have purchased iron boxes, luggage and blenders from Mazels before and were always amazes at the price difference. It is also a great place to shop for gifts. They have fancy glass ware at prices that can't be beat. Another great item to check out is their selection of wrapping paper and gift bags.
