if you get a chance to fly out of here rather than O'Hare take it. Most of the lower cost airlines use this airport. Traffic around Midway is usually much lighter than traffic around O'Hare, making your drive time into downtown Chicago about the same. There is a good off site parking facility - Midway Park and Fly that only charges about $7.50 a day and shuttles you right to the curb for check in.
If you have a boat that you take out on Lake Michigan, this is the place that will help you with almost anything you need. It is alot of fun to step into their showroom and look around at some of the boats they have on display. There is also a small golf club business run out of the same store.
This store is on the road heading into Crete. They do not have much of a window display and most people will probably drive by without stopping. That is a shame because there are some very nice collectible and decorative pieces inside. If you are antique shopping in the Crete area, this place is definately worth pulling over and checking out.
The name doesn't really do this place justice. They have pet supplies, they have beautiful garden statues, they have a really friendly staff. I've bought dog food from here for prices cheaper than those huge pet stores.
Very nice dentist but a very small practice. He seems to be nearing retirement and perhaps the client base is dwindling. The receptionist is his wife and they seem to work on odd schedules. There are only one or two chairs in the whole place -- attached to his house. All in all, he seems quite competent however.
They aren't fancy, but they are good dependable lower cost housing. Crete is a nice safe city to live in and the schools are better than many other local options. That makes this a good value for your dollar. The apartments are pretty standard, but they keep them and the parking lots well maintained.
Crete has several antique stores and this is the one I'm most likely to buy from. They have a beautiful window display. There prices are a little high, but there inventory is a higher quality than alot of the junky stuff you will find in the other stores.
They are very nice when trying to set up appointments and they sell all the usual products. The euqipment is always well maintained and clean and the beds work well. They offer some packages which are good deals.
This is the business Crete really needed. Turnover and new stock are improving rapidly as locals start to use this store more and more. Teen girls especially seem to love stopping in here often to see what is new and trade-in the stuff they no longer want.
The softball program for girls is much more organized than the boys baseball. The fields are in decent shape, they try to improve a litte every year. The programs start around Kindergarten age. As they get older, they form teams to play neighboring towns. Umpiring can be spotty but the concession stand is well stocked and nice!
