When I was a customized gift item I go to Lisas Silkscreen Printing. They have a large selection of premade items, and can also do custom work. The prices are great and I can usually get 2 gifts for the same price of 1 at many other places. The staff is always friendly and we never have trouble finding parking.
Valley Exchange is a small variety store. They are ok for a quick stop item, but they don't have a very big selection, and their prices can be a bit high for some items. The staff is friendly and they usually have pleanty of on street parking. I stop in every once in a while to see if they have anything new, but rarely go there for anythign specific because chances are they will not have it.
I've had one or two peices custom made for my daughter here. She's picky and the creatiosn they came up with thrilled her. The prices are a bit higher, but for a one of a kind creation you don't mind paying a bit extra. The quality is well worth every dollar. They can even work from a hand drawn jewelry idea.

They are a smaller Jewelry store so they don't carry many mass produced items, which is nice sine you want to give unique gifts to that someone special in your life. Teh staff is knowedgable and can answe any questions you may have.
If you're looking for unique books and gifts, Spellbound is the place to go. They are a small specialty books store & gift shop located on the main street of West Winfield, they have an almost homey atmosphere which makes stopping in a very pleasant experience. The prices are excellent for the quality of items they sell, and you're sure to find something unique for that hard to buy for person here. The sales staff is always friendly and can help you find exaclty what you're looking for.
The Bookworm is easy to find since it's on the main road running through Utica. They have a giant selection of books to choose from and the prices are very good. They almost always have a good sale going on so I can stretch my budget. Teh sales people are friendly and always willing to help you locate the things you're lookign for quickly.
When I was looking for new bedroom furniture, a friend suggest I come here. They have an excellent selection of top quality furniture and I found the perfect peices to redo the rooms. The prices were excellent for the quality I got, and the staff was friendly and very helpful. I will definately be shopping ehre agian in the future.
Whenever I need something small for home repairs and I'm in the area I stop in at Rt. 28 Hardware. They ahve a huge selection of just about anything you might need to do your own repairs at home. The prices are about average, but what makes me keep comming back is the knowledge of the staff. Any time I ahve a question, they seem to have the perfect answer.
Sandy's Nail Salon & Boutique is a quaint little place that does hair and nails, they also have a small selection of womens acessories whicha re REALLY cute and keep me comming back for interesting gift items. The prices are decent and the quality of the gifts is great. The sales staff is always very friendly.
When I'm looking for household cleaners I go to Dollar General. They have all the name brands at a bit less than the grocery stores. They take coupons so you can stretch your budget. They also have a small selection of clothing essentails such as socks and t-shirts. They have a small toy isle and usually have several isles which are seasonal items.
