This animal shelter is set in a wonderful "campus" area in Grandview. If you haven't been to a shelter in a while, this is sooo not what you remember. The animals have yards, and play areas, are allowed to socialize, and don't look miserable. We adopted a precious kitten from there about a year and a half ago and were very pleased with the process. They offer an excellent value for their services. Please support this shelter. It is very worthwhile.
This small company is owned by several members of a family that is committed to cleaning your carpets quickly, professionally, and with as little disruption to you home as possible. The prices are fair and there are often specials or promotions to make it even more affordable. They have cleaned our carpets for years and every time they are left looking brand new, and then are dry within hours.
This is a catholic private school with two campuses: one just off of the plaza, and one south of Interstate 435 and Wornall Road. They offer exceptional education programs to young ladies in a religious environment with weekly chapels and opportunities to serve. Both campuses are very nice and well kept and the staffs are wonderful; very knowledgable and caring.
This small financial advising firm is a great way to get your family's finances in order without paying a lot of money. They charge no fees to the clients, so it is essentially free to you. They get paid throught the products and investments you buy. They were able to get our debt completely eliminated in 9 months through an easy, buy consistent plan. They also introduced us to Mutual Funds and helped make sure our retirement funds were set to be sufficient.
This tractor company off of 23rd and Lee's Summit Rd has been family owned and operated for decades and continues to thrive even as the are around it is developed. The customer service is wonderful, the prices are reasonable, and the selection is more than adequate. They can find the perfect equipment to meet your farming needs no matter what size the job.
This salon has recently moved to a very nice, upscale building just off of Interstate 470 and Woods Chapel Road. The salon is very comfortable, spacious, bright, and clean. The employees are very warm and professional and do a great job for a reasonable price. They offer manicures, pedicures, cuts, colors, perms, massages, and tanning all in one convenient location with lots of parking.
This growing church in eastern Jackson County is located near the Independence branch of Blue River Community College. With a large recent addition and strong children's programs, this church is growing. It is a very traditionally baptist ministry with fairly hard and fast rules and the typical baptist sermons made by the pastor. The music is great! They have a wonderful contemporary band and praise team led by a great director.
This middle school is located in Northern Johnson County between Mission Hills and Prairie Village. The staff is warm, professional, and very caring about the students. The administration runs a very organized school that stresses positive reinforcement over negative discipline. The building itself is fifty years old but has recently been updated with new paint, windows, and wireless acess throughout.
This store offers all of the things your pets never knew they needed or even wanted. They have so many things to make your precious pooch even more precious it's not even funny. They have all of the standards like leashes and dishes, but they then branch out into tiaras and doggy strollers (come on!). There is a rather limited selection of cat toys and supplies, so if you are looking for that, look elsewhere. Otherwise, a doggy paradise.
This university located just off of the Plaza in Kansas City, is not a top university by any standards. Yes, they offer the convenience of an in the city location, but the price for that is the loss of some of that university campus feeling and seclusion. The programs they offer are good enough, and their tuition is quite reasonable, but some of their facilities are really starting to show their age and aren't being kept up as well as they should be.
