Peanut Butter & Co
I never went to a store that sells primarily peanut butter sandwiches. It does have a little twist to it. They let you add additional topping to the peanut butter like fruits and honey. They also have other food too. Their sandwichs tastes good, better than Skippy. It is expensive though. $5 for a peanut butter sandwich is a lot, but worth a try.
Cc Gift Shop
This is one of the better souvenir shops on canal street. They are located in the heart of NYC's chinatown. There are thousands of tourist on any given day. They have very competitive prices on their items especially their t-shirts 7 for $10. They open and close late on the weekends. I would ask for Ping as he will give you a discount since he is the owner of the store.
The packaging Store
I had a item I needed to ship in a hurry but I needed packing supplies like boxes, stuffing, and tape. Unfortunately there werent any Walmart around me and the local post office did not carry these items. I located this store and they did everything for me. They did a professional job packing and shipping the item. All this was worth the price because I had to mail these before christmas. I recommend this store.
Clb Check Cashing
This is a great place to have your checks cashed and get gas for your car at the same time. This usually saves me a trip to the bank which wouldve cost me more gas, since gas is crazy expensive right now. They do take a small percentage out, like 1% of the check cashed. I would not recommend it for everybody but if you have to go to the bank and gas station in two separate trip, this could save you some money.
Quality TV Svce
Quality TV Svce provide me excellent service. I had my SONY television but the colors were inverted. I took it to them and they told me my bulb had burned out. They told me that they do not have the bulb in the store and had to order it from the company. They gave me an estimate of 4 days and would call me if it arrived sooner than that. The turnaround time was less because they got a hold of the part from some other company. They fixed my tv and within a reasonable price. Recommended.
Qcd Graphics
I bought a car stereo receiver and amps from canal street and needed a mechanic to install it since I do not know how to. Queens Car Decor had installers to do it. They also sell after-market parts. It took them around an hour to install the equipment. They had a waiting room with coffee and arcade which made the time past by more quickly. It has been several years after the installation and my equipment still works perfectly.
Brownies Hobbies
I stumbled into this nice little hobby shop while shopping in brooklyn. Located in downtown brooklyn, you can access it by taking the L train. They had all kinds of toys there, from radio control cars to models. There prices were pretty reasonable compared to other hobby stores. The staff is very helpful. I wish there was one of these when I was a kid. I recommend it.
Wah Kue Company
This used to be the best comic book hobby shop in chinatown. I remember it was always packed. They sold comic books, sports cards, hobby models, and action figures. I dont know what happened to them. The previous owner was old and I didnt see him for a while but this other guy who worked there was remained. Last year I went there, he said things werent what it use to be after 9/11 and it smelled like weed there. This year the store is no more. It is a electronic store now. too bad
Town Bedding & Upholstery Co
Town Bedding is a furniture store in lower manhattan. They do have a wide selection of furniture. I bought a sofa from them. Their prices are good compare to other stores around NYC. I even bargained with the sales person and got it $200 cheaper. The sales person was friendly and was not too pushy trying to make a buck. I recommend this place for people who needs beds, sofas, tables.
Sam's Car Wash
I was driving around in brooklyn and my car was really dirty. So I decided to get my car washed here. They gave pretty good service and the lines werent too long. Their prices are pretty decent. I would go with the full package as it includes interior and exterior cleaning which is the best value. Come after 6pm for a discount for cars. I recommend it.
