Last I saw this store had been closed, which is a good thing, the store was disgusting and the pets were kept in overcrowded, unsanitary conditions. Wouldn't recommend it before, but thankfully it does appear to have shut down.
As far as I know, this store is no longer open, which is a good thing- the one time I stopped in to this store, it was filthy, with overcrowded conditions and poor looking animals. Definitely wouldn't recommend wasting your time driving there, even if they weren't shut down.
Unfortunately, as of October 2008, Green Valley Aquariums has been closed and is not expected to reopen.
Sorry if you wanted to go to this store, it was great from what I heard.
This isn't a review but a rebuttal to the first reviewer- as a former "chain store" employee, i can tell you they may do ok with customer service, but that only means giving you your money back when your fish die; it doesn't mean the employees give two craps about the animals in their care, their health, or what sort of home they going to. This is why i got out of working at pet stores; i cared more than the rest of the company did, and got too frustrated with not having my voice heard and seeing so many sick animals not cared for, or seeing healthy pets getting sold to unhealthy environments. My advice- don't EVER go to chain stores, but find the *right* local fish store to go to! I'll be sure to post a real review once i've visited this store and seen if they are one of the "good ones" - until then, use Google and do your research before you buy your pets, and you'll be OK no matter what the store employees say.
I called Ron after seeing some good reviews here on Insider Pages- I was a little skeptical because all of the reviews say "he made my pool like a diamond"- thought it might be something he tells people to write up, but as he was working on our pool equipment he said "i'll have it looking like a diamond by friday!" and, well, it's not quite friday but the improvement already is amazing. He showed up on time, got us the part we needed and installed it earlier than he said he could, and turned our algae-green-jello in to something you could call a pool! We're very happy with Ron and will continue with his pool service. Thanks Insider pages for helping us find a great professional!
I've done laundry here a few times but haven't had anything dry cleaned with them. Their laundry services are adequate, their prices are reasonable (75 cents to wash, 25 cents will get 7.5 minutes in the dryer). The facilities are always clean. Sometimes it is hard to get a dryer during "peak" laundry times, and the usually have some dryers that won't heat so make sure you look for signs on the front of them.
Jet lube is located right off of Rt 219 on Elton Blvd. The shop offers a variety of services from oil changes to spray-on Rhino truck linings. They offer an oil change package that includes oil change, air filter check, wiper check, fluid check, tire pressure check, and more. They occasionaly have rebates on the oil change package. The service for the oil change is relatively fast, roughly 10 - 15 minutes if no one else is in line ahead of you. The employees are friendly and explain the work to you before doing it.
As long as i can remember my family has always taken our pets (at least the cats and dogs) to Richland Vet for their checkups, shots, and more serious health problems. Over the years our spaniel developed a thyroid problem, and the vets were very compassionate to our situation and thourough with their examination and treatment of our animals. Truly, the veterinarians there helped us through some hard situations and most certainly gave our pets a higher quality of life through all of their life stages and most likely bought us more quality time with our loved one. Prices were reasonable, services are excellent, i highly recommend Richland Vet.
I've been away at college for a while, but whenever i go home i always stop at Bubbles N Chirps and browse the selection. They have a nice freshwater fish selection, and the fish in my experience are higher quality than found elsewhere, i rarely have problems with fish from the store. I really haven't purchased any other animals from BnC's, but their reptile collection always looks healthy and well fed. Their prices are run of the mill petstore prices, you can get things cheaper at PetCo now, but i'm a big support of your LFS- Local Fish Store, buying supplies at the fish store will let them keep the cost of the fish down! All in all i remember shopping here from a very young age and I still prefer to buy my fish from my LFS than the chain retailers who don't know squat about the animals they sell.
PROS: Locally owned and operated!
