Erie Zoo Information
What a treat the Erie Zoo is for a small town. The Zoo holds wonderful memories for me. The grounds are well kept and the animals appear to be well cared for there. The little petting zoo is a nice spot for small children. The price for admission is very reasonable and the parking is easy to access with ample space.
Meadows
Great place to watch the races. Plenty of tvs around for viewing. Food is decent too. Great place to hang out and catch the races, you get to see tons of sports along with the horses.
Once Upon A Child
You can get better deals at Kohls and even Kaufmann's when you watch the sales. I've gotten things there that were decent but still used for the same price as what I found new at the other places. When I try to sell there they never take things back that other locations gladly accept. I had items with the tags still on they said were too used. I have found the staff to be mixed, some friendly but some very snotty.
PROS:
CONS: Too high price for used clothes
Altas Perennial Gardens
Altas Gardens has a wide selection and very reasonable prices. The displays are well laid out and the flowers/plants are well cared for and maintained.
Shear Madness By Michelle
Great stylist and very caring about her clients. Love the creativity. Facility is well maintained and has a great knowledgable staff willing to work with the client.
Coddlers Day Care Svc Inc
I wish we were still close to this daycare. My daughter went there as an infant and was always very well taken care of from the wonderful loving staff. The infant room had a lot of grandmotherly types and loved rocking the babies. I could leave my daugther and know she was being loved. The facilities were spotless. They had plenty of toys and structured activities for the children. The decorations around the rooms were bright and cheerful. They sent home detailed logs daily telling me what my child did each day.
Pittsburgh Zoo & Ppg Aquarium
This is a great zoo. Lots of animals you can actually see during the day! The aquarium is a lot of fun for all ages. The kids can crawl through a stingray tunnel and get close to them. The playground and activities offer a great outlet for the kids. The grounds are clean and well maintained. The prices are reasonable.
PROS: Lots to do and see for everyone
CONS:
Jungle Jims Tree Svc
Best prices around. I had them come out for an estimate and thought I misheard! They also gave advice on what did not really need done and made honest recommendations. They did a complete cleanup too which amazed me. There was no sign they were there except for the wonderful trimming job! Would definately not hesitate to call again.
Warhol Museum
I attended a wine tasting at the Warhol. Very interesting venue. Its a great stop when you are in Pittsburgh, great local culture. They also have a dining area for lunch that is a little out of the norm. They have a nice gift shop with a large selection of Andy Warhol pieces. The place is very open and modern, very open when you walk in. Its a cool museum laid out in true Warhol style. Very colorful painting welcome you as you enter.
Pittsburgh Nails
Everytime i went here for a fill they would take off the existing nails and charge me for a full set without telling/asking me first. I had my 5 yr old daughter with me once, the lady came over and took her to a chair and started to do her nails for her. Then charged me! She never asked me. There was no one else in there so I thought she was just killing time. I didn't know she was painting the nails or i would have declined. The parking is very limited and hard to get in/out of especially with busy traffic.
PROS:
CONS: Untrustworthy
