If you need a dress for a formal affair, and the price doesn't matter, Jacqueline Dresses is the place to go. You get personal attention, with a large selection of formal gowns and accessories. A sales woman approached me and helped me to select several styles that would look good and were appropriate for the affair I would be attending. The prices are prohibitive for most people, though. Unless prices don't matter to you, Jacqueline's is a fantastic place to look, but you probably won't be able to buy. I did not check out the casual clothing, so I can't comment on them.
My kids love to go into Elmer Fudge. They get personal attention from the friendly people behind the counter, and can leave with a bag of candy without making too much of a dent in their wallet. The place reminds you of something you would see in Mayberry with Aunt Bee and Opie stopping in for some chocolates. It's a place to go when you would like to try some different sweets without having to buy a full bag of them.
If you want a cake for a very special occasion, Cakes Plus is the place to get it. Their cakes are beautiful and taste even better. Their prices are pretty high, so I usually just got there for a Baptism or Shower, not for kids birthday parties. However if you feel like splurging, this is the place to do it. They are very helpful and can make suggestions on the type of cake you may want as well as the message on the cake. I have always had a good experience there.
We have used this service many times, once called Airtran O'Hare, and had always been happy with it. Our last trip in July was the exception. We were picked up at O'Hare and told by the driver that his engine was overheating and the air wasn't working, but that once we were on the road things would be fine. Very hot, no windows open. As we are driving the engine kept cutting out. We had to stop on the expressway to cool down the engine. He got off the expressway and took locals about 25 min from our home. At every stop light he turned off the car and then restarted and sped off to get the limo to keep running. We finally made it home, about 45min later then we should have. The driver charged us full price. Rather than make an issue of it in front of our kids, we paid and then called the office the next day. They filed a "complaint". We have received one message since stating that the driver was taken to the hospital later that day, and that they were looking into everything, but we would be happy to know that they had gotten the limo fixed.
We could care less. We just wanted compensation for our horrible ride. That was 4 months ago and we have given up on ever hearing anything. We won't be using them again. It's really too bad, as the driver we had to the airport was an Oswego resident that we really liked. We just are too afraid of having something similar happen, only this time not making it where we are going.
My seven year old visited Prairie View to have an expander put in his mouth. At the initial consultation we met with Dr. Zimmer, who put him right at ease. She has children of her own and was very good at recognizing his fear and helping him to understand what would be done and that it would be relatively pain free. They work very well with our insurance company. We were told our cost up front, as well as what our insurance could be expected to cover. We have never had to wait when we go for an appointment. They get us in and out in a reasonable amount of time
My children and I go to Dr. Villa at the office of Dr. Milazzo. We love her. She is great with the kids, and so are most of the hygenists we have seen. We especially like Pam. They work very well with the insurance that we have, and are always careful to let me know what is covered and what is not. I have recommended them to many friends and neighbors, and it is becoming a little more difficult to get appointments unless you call pretty far in advance.
Brady's is a great place to go to get something that isn't mass produced. If you want that little something that no one else has, this is the place to come. Teacher and coach gifts can be found here. The prices are very reasonable. The people that work there are very friendly. Each time you go in you may find something that you haven't seen before.
We have found that Marcley's usually has some of the best gas prices around. The people that work inside, where we buy milk and the paper, are always very friendly. Last year the pay at the pump did not always work, but since they got the new pumps, I have not had any problems there. It is convenient because it is right off of 34, but you can also get in and out from a side street when route 34 is too busy to pull onto.
We went to Roger's Flooring for carpeting for our basement. We felt the they gave us a great price. The installers that came were very professional and got the job done when they said they would. We went there for kitchen and foyer tile. Our experience was not as good. The wrong tile kept getting ordered. We would be told that the installers were coming, only to have them call later to say that the tile had not come in or they were on another job. Our kitchen floor was torn up for weeks on a job that was quoted as taking 3 days. They also do not put back the quarter rounds or do many of the finishing touches that one would expect. We are now happy with the finished job, but it was a headache while it was being done.
We take our cars to Paradise Car Wash for clean vehicles at a very reasonable price. We usually just get the basic wash, which includes having your vehicle dried when the wash is over. It's great if you have kids, because you can stay in the car. Once we went and the water was not working. I explained that I just needed a vacuum because my son had spilled a bag of pretzels on the floor. The were not open, but vacuumed my van out for free! They won a lifetime customer.
