Carousel child care is a wonderful place. The children have plenty of materials for creative play and a great cirriculum for early learning too. The teachers have a caring and optomistic outlook and truely seem to care for each and every student. They have an outside yard that I would love to play in and our daughter really enjoyed going here. They accept child care assistance too which is a big plus for some families, but their rates are not very expensive anyway.
Our daughter was enrolled in Starbright for a year before she began kindergarden and she cried for days when it was time to leave. The teachers are amazing and everyone who works here is very child oriented. Teaching the little ones is their passion, not just a job and that is so refreshing. Our daughters letters and numbers skills and her vocabulary went completely over the top while enrolled. She really loved all of the children and teachers and was treated very well and challenged academically as well. They have a great schedule for days and promote happy healthy children.
We had a pregnant Siamese who was hanging around our house and a neighbor called Animal control about her. She disappeared for a few days (obviously having her kittens) and Animal control set a trap cage for her. She was caught but the newborn kittens were without their mother and starving. We took the mother out of the trap and caught all the kittens and they sent an animal cop to "talk" to us about removing the mother cat. They set the trap and did not return for over a week to talk to us, we waited 24 hours before removing the mother. I would think their concern should be with the animals welfare and they did not come back even after we called regarding the starving kittens. They are great with dogs, but I think they have a thing with cats
I stopped in here a few days before I was going to Hawaii, and it was a great choice. The tan is very natural looking and actually stays on for quite a while. I was Alaskan white and dreaded the beaches, with this tan, I was ready. It is a spray on tan and only takes about 2 minutes to apply in a tanning machine. I was in and out of the shop in about 25 minutes looking tan and pretty good too! They do appointments but also are very quick for walk ins if you don't go at a prime tanning time.
I used to frequent this laundry mat when I absolutely HAD to do my own laundry. The plus side- pretty cheap, they have a lot of machines and even those big front loaders that hold 5 loads of laundry. They have detergent and fabric softner on site for 50-75 cents and you can get done quickly because of the number of machines and dryers. Cons- Even though it smells pretty good because of all the laundry being washed at once, it's a bit messy and dirty. There is often caked detergent on the machines and always on the floor. Don't drop anything taking it out of the washer or dryer because you will need to wash it again. Another con is if it's crowded people act as though those laundry carts are the holy grail. So nessecity beats out fun, but who said laundry was fun!
When I was single and had a bit of extra cash, I would use Snow Whites drop off laundry service. They charge by the pound which really isn't bad considering the service you get. Drop off early and you can pick it up later that same day most of the time. Plus when you get your clothes, they look brand new nice and folded and smelling great. All wrapped in plastic, it was great. They also do a great job on dry cleaning but the wash and fold service is still my favorite.
I happened upon this place one year around Halloween looking for a costume and was amazed at the real clothes they had available. I have found a lot of name brand clothes for me in a hard to find size really cheap. Everything seems to be set up well, and easy to shop for size and color too. You may have to sift through a lot of weird stuff too, but when you find an amazing set or outfit, it's great. The staff is pretty helpful too and they have dressing rooms so you can try things on without buying them first.
I went here once and that will be it for me. I actually made an appointment and got there right on time, I ended up waiting a half an hour because the stylist was on her lunch break. Then when she returned she gossiped with the receptionist for another 15 minutes. My hair was washed and cut , but they did not blow it dry nor ask if I wanted it styled. I was fine with the cut, but the service was less than perfect. It was also quite expensive $35 for a simple wash and cut. They need to work on their customer service and it wouldn't be too bad.
What a great addition to the Anchorage community! H2Oasis is truely a wonderful place to take the family for a special day. An INDOOR waterpark with slides and several pool areas. The water is nice and warm and the structure itself is just amazing. It is quite loud and sometimes crowded but that's just the price you pay for having fun with a bunch of kids! Speaking of the price you pay- it's a bit steep, about $50 for a family of four. But for an occasional treat it's a real memory maker. You can also purchase annual passes for a greatly reduced rate. A lot of fun for the whole family.
One Stop Travel really does what it's name says! We booked a vacation to Hawaii through them and it was so easy. Our agent was professional and friendly and got us some great rates. She was also able to book our accomadations and recommend some since we had never been to Hawaii before. We scheduled shuttle service from the airport and rented our car. The directions from the Maui airport to our condo were impeccible. She also was able to purchase tickets to a luai for us. The entire trip was enjoyable and NO STRESS. And it only took an hour of our time in the office to completely book all aspects of our vacation. The suggestions for activities were all very enjoyable and some were even free. The cost was minimal, but worth every penny too! A wonderful agency to work with for your next vacation.
