Han Palace Antique & Art Ctr

If you are into Asian art & collectables this is a great store to come to and browse for a long time and shop. It may be a bit touristy however; I have always found it to be a very comfortable and inviting place to shop. They have a very large collection of the traditional things you would expect to find in an Asian antique shop. I especially enjoy looking at and buying pieces from their collection of jade. Its very large and I am always impressed at the wide variety they have in stock. The prices are OK and not totally out of this world. Take public transportation (Its almost a must!) unless you park in the lot downtown. I have never been able to find street parking. Would defiantly make this a stop on your SF downtown daytrip.

Professional Messenger

This is a pretty good service. we use them to get documents we can not send electronically from our downtown location to our clients across the City. They have always arrived in a timely manner and have been able to get the packages to our clients very fast and in one piece. As our company uses technology more and more we have not been using them as much however they are still the first call when we need to get documents to a client very fast and we do not have them online. The messengers are very professional and know how to act in a business environment and I would not hesitate to recommend them for you inter city messenger needs.

El Monte Rv Rentals & Sales

We had decided to go on short trip to the Nevada and needed to rent an RV so we went to El Monte RV in Oakland. El Monte one of the biggest RV sale/rental centers in northern California. I heard about El Monte through a friend that uses them at work and I have to say the whole experience was great. The staff at El Monte was really helpful and took the time to guide me on which product would be the best for me and my friends. Once we selected an RV they even gave us a very informative course on how to operate and take care of your RV. I have to say if I had the space i would probably buy one of these it's a great way to travel. I will use them again for my RV needs and will definitely explore there special event packages we are planning to go see NASCAR in June so El Monte will be getting a call from me again soon to reserve an RV.

Bear Com

This is an excellent source for your radio needs. We purchased a complete communication system for our employees that need to use two-way radios at work the bearcom staff were very helpful and extremely knowledgeable about the products. They are also an Nextel dealer so if you think that the Nextel solution (2-way) is a better option for you they have that here at the bearcom store. What is also nice about Bearcom is that they are also an authorized repair center for what they sell. We have used them and they have been able to repair our unit quickly and had them back in the field with out delay. I would highly recommend them.

Clipper Corner

I like to take my dog to this store to get his trim. They do a very good job and are priced very reasonable. I really feel comfortable bringing my dog to get his haircut here. The staff is very professional and they have never nicked him while giving him a trim. Another thing I like about Clipper corner is that the staff does not leave your pet alone or un watched they always seems to be focused on your pet and make you (and yourpet) feel at ease. I (and my dog) would highly recommend this location for your pet grooming needs.

Thomas Bros Maps

We use this store for all our Thomas Brother purchases. Although GPS is starting to become the standard for mobile sales forces my people still find the handy Thomas Bros. map to be the best bet. I have a set in the office and a set in the cars for my sales force. We coordinate our calls using these maps and have found it to be very useful. You still cannot beat the price compared to outfitting your sales force with GPS the hardware and software training is just to expensive and the hand maps never need to be recharged! I really think this is the best shop around and it is the standard they everyone attempts to meet. I also use these maps for my personal use and have several sets at home and in my personal car.

The Golf Mart

This is a great store for all your golfing needs. I have purchased many sets here and intend to purchase more. The staff is very helpful and knowledgeable about golf. I find that that is very important since the employees generally enjoy golf and are not just there to punch the clock and then go-home. If you are looking for golf equipment at a good price this is the place to go, they also have a good selection of golf shoes and hats. Its located in a convenient location and close to public transportation I often find myself going here during my lunch break to check out the new arrivals.

Alex Vayn Piano Tuning

I had an old piano that I was going to donate to a school and before I donated it really wanted to have it tuned up. I called Alex on a recommendation from a friend. Alex was very professional and quick he was able to tune up my old piano and had it sounding great again. The school really appreciated it when I donated the piano that was tuned up. I gave them the contact info for Alex and they have used him to tune up the piano again. I highly recommend Alex he is a great piano tuner, reliable and very fast. The results were excellent.

West Coast Taxidermy Studio

If you ever have gone fishing and wanted to preserve that special catch this is the place to go. I have taken several catches to be mounted here.
They do an excellent job and if you have never been to a taxidermy studio this is the place to go. The staff here are very professional and the service was top notch. The prices were also very good and I have recommended them to several friends. If you ever need a top-notch local taxidermist this is the place to go. I would highly recommend them.

Joyful Movement

I have taken a few classes here at joyful movements. I find that pilates is a far more beneficial form of exercise for me. I have tried the traditional gyms and have found a pilates workout can give me better results with less stress. The studio is small and just off of Union Street, its not backed with modern equipment but it has excellent instructors that staff it. If you are looking to start a pilates regiment I would highly recommend this studio. Great one-on-one instruction and a great neighborhood.

PROS: small and very cozy
CONS: no parking
