For a small bookstore this is a great one. They have every newspaper under the sun. If you can't find a book here the staff is more than willing to order it for you. It's nice that there's a coffee shop near as well. You can grab your newspaper and go and sit with nice warm cup of coffee! How nice!
I first went to Roosevelt Lanes after a championship football game. We had a blast! The staff was kind of unprepared for the roughly 100 people that showed up, but they handled it quite well.
There is a separate arcade for the kids. The bar area is large and open, you don't feel so separated from the rest of the place.
The cosmic bowling was a blast. My kids really had a good time here.
We bought our 1st popup camper here last summer and I wouldn't go anywhere else after dealing with General RV. We thought we wanted a used camper but after browsing the lot and talking to our salesperson we realized we could afford a new one. It turns out that our salesperson got it for us cheaper than the used one we were looking at. She also kept in contact with us to make sure that we were enjoying our purchase. We are!
If you aren't interested in a good night's sleep, this is your place!
I bought my son a mattress here trying to save a few bucks. I would have been better off sinking more money into a mattress because this one didn't last 6 months before springs started popping. Horrible, horrible quality. If you want to save money on your mattress go to one the warehouse clubs. MUCH better quality for the same price.
As far as open bowling goes at Cherry Hill Lanes, it's very difficult getting a lane here because of all the leagues. My daughter had her birhtday party here though and we were very impressed with it. They offered 2 games of bowling for the kids, followed by pizza and cake in the party room. Our daughter came home with a bowling pin and she loved it. Our son did a child's league here and that was great. They have great programs for the kids.
We have league bowled at Oak Lanes for a few years now and we really enjoy it. The parking lot is plenty big enough, which can be an issue at other lanes. As far as special amenities, it's just your run of the mill bowling alley. But at the same time, it's not very crowded and you usually will have no problem getting lanes during open bowling.
If I had a choice in the matter it wouldn't be to go to Garden City Hospital. The wait is horrible in the ER and most of the staff is not very friendly in ER.
The billing department is another cause of concern for me here as well. Well after my emergency room visit I was purchasing a new vehicle only to be turned down for credit. I have fantastic credit so I was surprised to learn that I had a NONPAY on my report for Garden City Hospital! It seems that there was a deductible of $25. They never charged me on the day of service NOR did I receive a bill. Fortunately it is all straightened out now, but it was a mess to deal with.
All three of our children were born here at Oakwood Hospital. Throughout the years most procedures that were needed were done here as well. We are very impressed with the hospital. The nursing staff right down to administration are very friendly and professional. We have no experience (thank God) with their emergency room, so I cannot comment on that. The checking in process for procedures can be very lengthy so plan accordingly.
There was a time when I refused to go to the Detroit Zoo. It was dirty and didn't offer very much. One day we decided to go their with our kids because we didn't much feel like driving to Toledo, our regular zoo. We were very pleasantly surprised! The exhibits were very well done and we enjoyed our entire day. The chimp exhibit was one particular one that we enjoyed. The park is now very clean and pleasing to the eye. Warning though....it can be very expensive to go here if you eat your meals there. We've learned to take a cooler of food to save cash. It works out very well.
I took my daugher here for a birthday party last year and I was very impressed. First, it's in the beautiful Heritage Park where I got married. The next thing that impressed me was how clean this place was. It was SPOTLESS. The party itself was wonderful. They took the children on a little tour which ended up back in the party room for pizza and cake. The party room had birds in cages and the girls loved it. The parent who thru the party said that the charges for the party weren't expensive at all. It's something I would definitely consider for my child's next birthday party.
