When I was searching for day cares for my child, the Children's Ark was right at the top of the list. What impressed me was that they had lesson plans and a plan for the day, even for the youngest children. The facility itself was well taken care of with an ample space for outdoor play. Friends who have taken their children here have raved about it. The downside to this facility, quite pricey compared to others in the neighborhood.
Willow Valley Bakery is located within the Willow Valley resort complex and is handy to stop into after eating at the Family Restaurant located above the bakery. The Willow Valley Bakery makes excellent cookies, I had some oatmeal raisin form there that were great. They also do custom cakes, wedding cakes and more. They are also a tourist destination with a selection of Amish country goods and cookbooks.
The William Penn Inn is a nice restaurant and catering site. They have beautiful grounds with a gazebo and a charming interior that will suit your nicest occasions. The food is good, prettily arranged and tasty. The prices are high, come prepared to spend a lot on your dinner or affair, but know that it will be in a beautiful setting.
Having done my laundry for years at his laundromat, I am pleased to report that it is well-kept, clean and reasonable. There is nothing worse that a run down laundromat..so this one fits the bill. They can tend to be crowded at times, but for the most part I have always been able to find machines to use. They also have vending machines and a couple games on site to help you while away the time.
I have used Betty the Caterer for work functions and have always been pleased with the taste of the food, the presentation, and timely arrival. Betty the Caterer also has Kosher catering available, so it is a handy thing to know if you need that type of catering. She tends to be on the expensive side, but her food id good and she is reliable.
I went to an event at the Drexelbrook and I was pleased with the food, the presentation and the staff. The food was not distinctive, but it was good. The facility itself is roomy and pretty. It was a generally classy place and you can tell they take pride in their service.
Delancey Street Bagels is a local favorite. They bake their own bagels right on the premises and boy are they delicious. They have over twenty varieties to choose from. You can get them with just cream cheese or you can get them as sandwiches. I have never been disappointed when I have had them put together a little spread for an office breakfast meeting. There is also ample seating inside to eat and have a cup of coffee.
Covenant Preschool is a busy bustling place. They are a popular choice for local parents for a good morning preschool program. They help your child develop social skills and learning skills in a nurturing environment. They also offer an optional extended lunch day program. Very reasonably priced for a preschool in this area.
Llanerch Presbyterian Preschool is a nice little school. It is quite old, it's been in operation something like 30 years! The teachers are caring and have all been at it for many years. The classrooms have a nice set up with direct access to the outside. The class size is deliberately kept small and the pricing is reasonable. They also offer an additional day for a nominal charge.
This is the school I finally settled on when looking for daycare for my child when I had to return to work full time. I liked the set up of the facility, they have a converted house that has large and small play areas, with a large yard outside for the kids to play. The director was energetic and I got to observe her interactions with the students. There are two baby rooms and both had caring staff.
