Folawn's Day Spa

Though normally out of my price rage, I went to Folwans for a haircut and had the most relaxing experience. As a first time customer, I received a complimentary aromatherapy scalp massage prior to having my hair washed. The stylist took time to ask what I wanted, how much time I normally spend on my hair, and kept my expectations realistic. Then we headed to get my hair washed. As a normal service while getting your hair washed, you get a scalp massage. This is the most relaxing experience!
The staff members are all very friendly!

PROS: Great service and staff
CONS: A little too pricey for my budget.

Altex Electronics Inc

On the occasions that I have needed to shop at Altex I have found the sales staff knowledgeable and helpful. I was able to get in, find what I need, and get out very quickly. The prices are a bit higher than other electronics/computers stores, but the vast selection is great.

PROS: Huge selection, friendly and knowledgeable staff
CONS: slightly pricey

Belden's Automotive

San Antonio, TX Car Transmissions - San Antonio, TX Auto Repair 11/14/05: 'Work done well, but pricey'

I had an oil change done at Beldens Automotive. They did the oil change and then some. They kept finding things that "needed" to be repaired right away! The rep/tech was very aggressive about trying to convince me to get all of the work that they found to be done, done right then. I felt talked down to and pressured. I'm not going to go to Beldens again.

PROS:
CONS: Aggressive/pressuring sales staff.

Stews Barber Shop

Murrieta, CA Barbers - Murrieta, CA Barbeque Equipment & Supplies 11/14/05: 'The best haircuts my husband has ever gotten!'

Stew's is my husbands favorite barbershop of all time! Whenever we get back to Murrieta, CA, my husband plans a trip to Stew's. The owner is great - friendly, fast, and skilled. The shops are cozy and fun and the prices are very reasonable. Just before our wedding, the owner cut my husband's hair - that perfect haircut for a wedding...cleaned up but not looking like he just got his hair cut. We love Stew's!

PROS: Fun, comfortable shops. Skilled and fast stylists. Great prices
CONS: No Stew's in San Antonio, TX!

Specia Services

San Antonio, TX General Contractors 11/14/05: 'Great General Contractors'

When we needed to finish out a building for our business, we were referred to Specia Services. We were very pleased with their work, their attitude, and their prices. The foreman for our job bent over backwards to make sure we got just what we needed and wanted. They knew where to find someone who did what they didn't. From plumbing to electrical to painting they met and many times surpassed our needs.

PROS: Price, professionalism, attitude
CONS:

Fingers & Toes

San Antonio, TX Nail Salons 11/14/05: 'Pricey for mediocre service'

I was refered to this nail salon and was sorely disappointed. The reception area was messy. The service was mediocre. If you go with a friend one of you will get stuck sitting in a lower quality pedicure chair. Prices for a spa pedicure start at about $35. Not worth the money at all. The best thing about this business is that is close to some shopping and on my way to the locations where I run weekly errands.

PROS: Location
CONS: pricey mediocre service

Solar Nails

San Antonio, TX Nail Salons 11/14/05: 'Usually good service, occasionally lacking'

This is the first nail salon I went to when I moved to San Antonio. I was very happy with the service and the price for about a year, spending about $60 for a spa pedicure and a full set of acrylic nails. Occasionally the nail technician would be in hurry and she would nick me. Once I was nicked twice in one session. I then started looking for a new nail salon. Solar Nails is a 50/50 chance to get a good mani/pedi.

PROS: faily reasonable prices
CONS: hurried staff

Rainbow Cleaners

San Antonio, TX Dry Cleaners & Laundries 11/14/05: 'Burnt smelling "cleaned" comforter'

I took a comforter here for dry cleaning and it came back smelling burnt. The price to have it cleaned was around $15. It took longer than they quoted to get it cleaned. I most definately will NOT take any other articles to be cleaned to Rainbow Cleaners.

PROS:
CONS: burnt smelling "cleaned" items, pricey, bad service

Fashion Nails

San Antonio, TX Nail Salons 11/14/05: 'Great service and reasonable prices'

While trying to find the best nail place, I came across Regal Nails. A friend and I decided to try it out. She brought her 2-year-old daughter along. We both got spa pedicures that were just fabulous. My friend's little girl was having a fun time watching the staff member working on her mommy's toes. The staff member was so nice to her and asked her if she wanted a pedicure, too. Of course, being a girly girl, she said yes. The staffer then took this little girl to pick out her polish and then set her up for a quick spa pedicure. The staffer was so kind to her and treated her with all the respect of an adult. It was a great experience! On top of the exceptional service, the prices are very reasonable - spa pedicures starting at $25! I noticed that they keep their tools clean and disinfected, too. That's always a huge plus! Their massaging pedicure chairs are so comfy and relaxing....real kneading massage chairs!
They are also located near great restaurants, so you can grab a bite while your fingers and toes completely dry.

PROS: Great service, great price, great chairs, good location.
CONS:
