A few years ago, my best friend was getting married on New Years Eve. Her seamstress returned the wedding dress to her the night before, and we quickly found the seamstress did NONE of the alterations. Not many places are open on New Years Eve to do alterations, so we rushed over to Ace. They not only did it perfectly and in lightning time, they were so nice and wonderful. THey literally saved her wedding day & get my vote of confidence anytime!
PROS: Fast, superb service, good location in Barton Creek mall
I use this cleaners a lot, mostly because it is local and it is very near my house. I have a very expensive diaper bag that I take in every month to be cleaned. The last time I took it in, when I came back, they claimed they did not have it and acted like I had never been there before. Then another lady came out and pulled it from behind the counter. She said that they couldn't clean this type of bag. I explained that I brought it there every month, and she said no way. I even pulled out past tickets that showed "diaper bag" on it, but she wouldn't budge. It had formula spilled in and on it, so there were some significant stains. She actually told me that I had to go home and clean it before she would clean it. I left, and have never been back. They will never get my service again.
CONS: unfriendly and uncompromising staff
I do like to come here to do some bargain shopping for my one year old. I am always pleased what I find at this store, and like the location. They have bigger items, like strollers, cribs, etc. but they do not sell car seats. They also used to sell maternity clothes here, but stopped selling maternity at the north store over 2 years ago. I don't sell my kids clothes here, only because I don't think I get a fair price.
PROS: bargain prices, quality clothes
CONS: doesn't give fair price when purchasing your items
This store has recently moved to 4901 Burnet Rd. It is bigger, much bigger! There are some great finds in here, but you have to be willing to really look. Also, if you are a bargain hunter like me, you will find you are not always getting a bargain. For a thrift store/resale shop, the prices here are a bit high at times.
My 8 year old daughter attends 3rd grade here on a transfer. This is a truly amazing school. The teachers, janitors, lunchroom staff, office staff, principal...all of them are truly committed to these children. They have multi age classrooms, integrated thematic instruction, and focus on brain based learning. My daughter is diabetic, so at times, she has special needs. She has the MOST wonderful teachers that take care of her educational and health needs. Not only have her grades improved at Brentwood, we believe her health has too.
Not only is the location awesome, the gym itself is just really cool! I never feel like this gym is going to swallow me up! The staff is really cool, and I always feel like they have my best interest at heart. This is a great place to work out and not feel any pressure!
PROS: good location, great equipment, awesome staff
This shop is a bargain hunter's dream! It is such a fantastic children's resale shop. You are not going to find stained or "beat up" looking clothes here, you find quality clothing. You also find great designer clothing for your kids! You can also find books, toys, movies, high chairs, strollers, car seats, and furniture. The staff is very friendly and always willing to assist. If you are looking to get rid of some of your child's things, this is a great place to take them! You have the option of getting cash or store credit.
PROS: Great location, friendly staff, quality items
This doctor is probably about as unprofessional as it gets. I had some major work done here, and on one occassion, he did some cosmetic work for me. Except I did not ask for the cosmetic work to be done NOR DID HE ASK ME IF HE COULD DO IT. When he was done, he said it was a freebie and acted like he did me a really big favor. That night, as I was brushing my teeth, half of my front tooth chipped off. It happened on a Thursday, and I had a big charity dinner to attend that weekend & didn't want to go "toothless." They would not fit me in until the following week...I had to go to another dentist to get it fixed. Then, he started sending me outrageous bills, for things I didn't ask him to do! This was a truly awful experience for me and thanks to him, to this day, I am horrified of dentists!
CONS: where do i start?
Dr. Sawyer has put tubes in my daughters ears 4 times. The first time she was 8 months old. The last time, she was 8 years old. He is an excellent doctor and has always taken very very good care of my daughter. He has a wonderful bedside manner. He also has great office staff, and his nurse, Gloria, is amazing.
PROS: central location, excellent staff, good with kids
Dr. Wray became my daughter's endo when she was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes 2 years ago at the age of 6. Dr. Wray has thoroughly educated us on this chronic disease and how to take care of our daughter. She has an emergency cell phone number that she gives her patients in the event of a true emergency. We have had to call her several times after hours, and she is always pleasant and takes care of us. The staff in her office has changed over the last 2 years, but they are all very pleasant. She has taken excellent care of our daughter.
PROS: helpful, friendly, quirky, can get her in an emergency
CONS: no longer has a RD in her office
