Cincinnati's Music Hall is a beautiful venue for their Symphony and Pops Orchestras. The outside is beautiful, but the inside takes you back in time to regal galas and high class concerts. The acousitcs could be a little better as mentioned in another review, but for the time the hall was built, it is exceptional. The Cincinnati Symphony and the Pops, both housed out of Music Hall are two of the finest music institutions in the area.
Sharon Woods is a breathtakingly beautiful park - especially in the autumn and early spring. The Autumn Season turns the park into a beautiful collage of colored trees and crackling leaves as you walk its trails. Even driving by you can see the beauty of this park. This park is a great place for couples, families or individuals to come and stroll. There are activities during the warmer weather, like paddle boats and a petting zoo, but they also have year-round recreation courts and a playground. I believe admission is appx. $2, but it's well worth it for a nice relaxing day outdoors.
The Cincinnati Fire Museum is one of my families favorite places. With my husband being a firefighter, everyone "has" to enjoy going! Their history of the city and the first paid fire department in the nation is fantastic. All of the pictures and gear are fun to look at and the experience is one you'll never forget. They also have some wonderful and unique items in their gift shop, including a hardback book with information on all the Cincinnati Firehouses and a new calendar.
The Taft Museum of Art is a wonderful little gem in the City of Cincinnati. The variety of artwork displayed is fantastic, and the staff are very informative. Although the museum is small in comparison to many of the larger museums in the area, it's historic aspects are really nice. It is set in the renovated Taft House, and the additions of the Taft Tea Room is especially pleasant. The quaintness of the museum will allow you to observe all the artwork in just several hours as opposed to spending all day in one location. I highly recommend this outing in Cincinnati!
Perfect North is a great place to get away for some snow-filled fun. It's a nice place for a day trip to go skiing, tubing or boarding. The slopes are nice and although it isn't the Alps or in Colorado, it's nice for a place here in the midwest. Easy drive and nice place to play!
Great church, friendly people, wonderful praise and worship and lots of family programs. This is a nice place to visit or make your church home. The music and preaching are also good.
The shops in Carew Tower/or Tower Place mall are nice. There isn't a lot, but it is nice to have for those who work downtown. There's enough to do some christmas shopping at lunch even if prices aren't always the best.
Grassis is a wonderful florist with a very generous and caring owner. They recently provided the flowers for my grandfathers funeral, and everything was beautiful. We also had lunch sent over from them, and they had the very best sandwiches I've ever had! When we were going through a painful time, Grassis made one aspect a little easier.
Dr. Burton is one of the best dentists! She takes a real interest in her staff and her patients. She is not over-priced and is fair to everyone who walks through her doors. Her work is top-quality and she doesn't do "cheap" work that costs more than it should. Two thumbs up!!!
Dr. Boggess is a great orthodontist!!! I went to him for a number of years and he was always kind and easygoing. The staff has always been pleasant and the office is very clean. I highly recommend him to anyone!!!!
