I shop here every year at their annual sidewalk sale held on the first Saturday of August I believe...sign up for their newsletter to really know for sure what the date is. The staff is friendly and wonderful and I have never had an issue with them. Good quality clothing, friendly staff and awesome prices have made me call this place the go to store for my children's clothing. At this sale, you get a brown paper bag, a big one, and you can fill it to the brim with anything outside at the sidewalk sale for 10 DOLLARS! That is the BEST sale I have been to! For 30 bucks last year, I outfitted my two daughters and my little boy for nearly the entire fall season into winter! I can't say enough about them, I have started to make this a yearly event with my sister in law once I had her go with me last year. She found uniforms for her son's private school and was hooked! Go, shop often, that is the best advice I can give anyone who is lucky enough to live close to that store!!!
Relatives of mine have a pool from here that they personally had installed. I hear that Mallory only works by word of mouth, and the relatives I had have a heated, lighted pool with a liner that they suctioned to the wall of a hole they cut in the side of the ground. The below ground pool they had went from 3 to 8 feet and it was WONDERFUL! The Mallory people will for a fee, come out and open and close the pool for you every year! I can't believe the service and level of quality of that pool. When they sold the house, it went for mre, thanks to Mallory's quality and craftsmanship. It was as they bought it (the pool that is) when they left it, after 10 years of living there with the pool. When I buy a pool, this is where I am going next year!
PROS: Great service and opening and closing the pool for you for a fee
Nice place to get your 4th of July flags and an assortment of flags from not only other states but other countries and an assortment of college flags and banners. Great for the homeschooler when learning about the usa
PROS: Great selection and friendly service, quaint place
CONS: Small and kind of out of the way for me
I thought the food was bland, the atmosphere was lacking ANYTHING. They tried to make this like TJ's and I don't like anything there but the sausage gravy either, but this didn't even have THAT I ordered some roast beef, open faced sandwich, but it didn't have the great roast beef taste like other places. Blah, the server was rude and the food was just BORING! Don't bother going here unless you are just starved for cardboard!
PROS: Cheap prices
Wonderful, creamy, dreamy and luxurious is about all I can say about Greaters. I know they are local to Columbus, but they should go nationwide. I love the black cherry ice cream and you can only get it at certain times a year. They offer you a tiny cup for a water fountain in the place, and I suggest you USE it, if you order the Praline Pecan dish, YOU WILL NEED THE WATER! Rich, delicate and wonderful. The whipped cream is like homemade! Also try other items they have in season....everything here is good.
PROS: Praline Pecan and black cherry ice cream
Ok, I have tried a lot of hamburer "joints" in my time but this one takes the cake! I recommend you get here early and avoid the evening crowds. NO wonder this place is packed! I went here with a friend in the summer and we ordered the huge burger they had, and OK I had to take 1/2 of it home! The food is cheap by all other standards and the meaning of "supersize" takes a whole new look at this place. Great little quirky place that just made me feel like mom and pop were in the place!
PROS: Great food
CONS: A little dark for me but overall quaint atmosphere
Lasagna is my staple food here! Great prices and specials with coupons that they offer from time to time. Great place to eat if you are downtown and looking for something different but familliar.
I love the atmosphere here too. Lots of casual "max and erma" type things here.
PROS: Lasagna was great and great place to take the family
CONS: Not close to anything but downtown, make more of them!!
This place is great for your homeschool supplies too! They even offer a discount and special emails that show you when sales are going on. I have found many math, language, and writing manipulatives here. My only problem with them is that they don't offer a teacher discount to homeschool persons. Well, that and the fact that I wish there were more "qualified" personnel who could help me with some things I am concerned about. Posters, art supplies, even Christian school items can be found, at least the one out East has it (on hamilton road).
Great for anyone who loves school supplies LOL
PROS: Lots of items for homeschool parents
CONS: The counter staff could be more knowledgeable about products and schooling
O wow, how can I say any more about this coffee shop...the atmosphere, is great, even with the teenage skater kids around! They make this CHAI Milkshake that I can't find ANYWHERE that tastes as good as the one they make here! I love the coffee, the "geeky" look to their store and the way they make me feel as if I entered that show Friends and live on the set of Central Perk LOL
I think they even do some music there (haven't been there for that) on weekends? I will drive out of my way from near Whitehall just to make it here for that CHAI!! Doesn't get much better when you consider the coffee they have, typical normal coffees, also some muffins and other items to get your sweet tooth going!
PROS: Great atmosphere
CONS: Out of the way, wish there were more of them!
Gahanna grill has been around for a long time and I never knew it living on the east side! I found out about them at our work Christmas party and thought that they were awsome! Especially their prime rib! It is to melt in your mouth good!! I haven't had prime rib like this ANYWHERE else in the city! Relatively reasonably priced and the atmosphere is excellent.
