I really like Petersons Fish Market for fresh Lake Superior fish. They have a nice selection of fish at all times. They are also very friendly everytime I go to Petersons, great customer service! The prices aren't ridiculously over priced either, which is one of the main reasons we get our fresh fish from this market. I started going to this fish market after I worked at a local restaurant as a waitress and they got their fish from there every week for their famous friday fish fry. Everyone always loved the fish, so I figured we'd try it personally and we are so glad we did. We all love eating fish at our house, and my husband doesn't have the time to go fishing all the time (nor does he have the luck)! Five Stars for Petersons FIsh Market!
I haven't been in this party store for years because we moved away, but I remember they had a wonderful deli selection and made really good pizza and pizza rolls. They were always friendly and the prices were always reasonable. I like the location as well, it's right near our family when we come back to visit to town. It's easy to get in and out of as well. It's a fairly clean party store as well, I think it's because they offer food so I'm sure the health inspector is more strict on them than just a traditional party store. Overall it's a nice little shop!
Oh-my-gosh!! Villa Bakery is the BEST bakery ever! I hate living so far away from them. We moved away a few years ago and every single time we go back to town I must stop and buy pizza rolls. I even went as far as trying to re-create them because we love them so much (of course they never taste as good, lol). I also like that you can get them at local gas stations and party stores.. they aren't as fresh as you can get at the bakery obviously, but if you can't make it to the bakery, at least you can still get the Villa Bakery taste! They also make delicious pizza and cookies. The prices on the pizza bread always goes up, but hey, so does everything else in the world! And you cannot beat the taste!
I was shocked to read the other review from the former student. I am curious to know what years she attended. I can't believe anyone would get away with throwing animal parts in someone's hair! I agree that there was some favortism towards certain people, but where isn't that the case. In my opinion, it was never *that* bad, and no, I wasn't one of the athletic type or one that was "favored" in any way what-so-ever! I didn't like certain things that went on there, nor did I agree with the strict dress code, but I am so thankful that my parent's put the money towards my education. And as much as I hated taking certain classes at the time (Religion for example), now that I am grown and have a family of my own, I'm very thankful I have that awesome background. I wouldn't change my education opportunities for anything. I really loved Lutheran High... even if I didn't think so at the time!
I've been going to Fouad's Styling Station for about 10 years now. I went to them at their previous Westland location as well. I love the fact that they are a family run business. The service is friendly and they are very quick as well, and the quality of the cut, style, coloring, and products is amazing. I always leave that salon happy. I moved away a few years ago and I haven't found a salon quite as wonderful as Fouad's! So, I just wait until I come to town and go there. The prices are amazingly cheap too. Five stars all around for Fouad's!
I've been to Kari's Klip & Kurl one time and had excellent service. The stylist was friendly and talkative. The cut was fabulous, I was beyond happy with it. I went to this salon when I asked around for recommendations and heard how nice Kari's Klip & Kurl was, and the price was very very affordable as well. I keep meaning to make an appointment to go back, because my hair definately needs it, and I think I'll make an appointment for my husband and son as well. Overall I was very pleased with everything about this salon.
a great local dealership. We have bought quite a few used vehicles from them in 6 years and plan on purchasing a brand new one within the year. The owner is very friendly and is easy to work with. The car salesmen are decent and don't try to "pull one over on you". They work within your budget and help you get a good vehicle that you can afford. Copper Country Ford is the only Ford dealership within about an hour of us, but we wouldn't shop anywhere else anyway! We are also pleased with their service department. They always get us in quickly when we need them, even if it's just for an oil change! Copper Country Ford is a five star dealer and we are please to work with them.
We absolutely love the financial advisor that works at the Edward Jones in Calumet, MI. He is fabulous! We can't afford to invest a lot of money because frankly, we just don't have a lot "extra", but no matter how much money we invest with Edward Jones, we are treated with the utmost respect and we really appreciate it. The 'advisor' (whom I don't think I am allowed to name) even took 2 hours out of his day a couple weeks ago to help us with some financial decisions, FREE OF CHARGE! He is absoultely amazing and we really are thankful we invest with Edward Jones in Calumet. The secretary there is also amazing and super friendly at all times! We give them an A+
I absolutely love to shop at Econo Foods. Over the past year and a half or so they've expanded their store quite a bit, which has allowed for a larger selection of all natural and organic items! You can't beat the prices on their produce, deli, and meats, and the friendly service is very helpful! I also love their new expanded can and bottle return, and the nice sized smaller carts they offer now as well. My son loves the games he can play on our way out the door! Econo is always clean as well! And their parking lot is also one of the cleanest around (which in this area in March is a big thing with all the melting snow)!! The workers are very helpful if you ever need anything. I also like their selection of ready to eat food (pasty's, soups, salads, etc).
I really enjoy shopping at the Keweenaw Co-op. They have a nice variety of all natural foods and products and also a nice variety of organic items as well. The prices are a bit high, but that is expected with organic and all natural items, and the benefits of eating healty far out weigh the higher costs. They also have a nice selection of nuts and vegetarian food! The workers are friendly as well. They do offer a 2% discount if you join the co-op. Parking is a bit tight if you have a larger vehicle.
