The San Diego Maritime Museum is a great place to visit for kids and adults alike. They have many ships there that you can board and explore. There is even one 18th century Royal Navy Frigate thats anchored there that is amazing and takes you to a trip into the past. There is only one admission fee which allows you access to all the ships in the harbor.
Tour of Elegance is a store that sells bridal tiaras, veils, jewelry, wedding guest books, pens and ring pillows. My friend and I shopped here last month since she wanted to look for a headpiece for her wedding. They have a large selection of tiaras which were beautiful. The staff is friendly and they were very helpful in figuring out how the pieces were supposed to sit on the head.
The Adams Avenue Bookstore is a pretty good store. They sell a wide variety of books in all the major subjects. They also have some hard to find and out of print books that they sell if you are a collector. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. They can help you find the books you are looking for and if they dont have it in their store they will even check other bookstores for you.
I love shopping at the Fashion Valley Mall but only on nice, sunny days. I never shop here when its raining because its an outdoor mall where you need to step outdoors to go to another store. They have all of my favorite stores like Pottery Barn, Z Gallerie, Gap. They also have an AMC Theater there that has 18 screens. Its conveniently located right off the freeway too.
Mission Valley Mall is located right off the freeway and, although not my favorite mall, is the closest to where I live. This mall is okay as far as the type of stores available to shop at. The major department stores that I like are Macys and Robinsons May. They also have a Target store at one end of the mall and an AMC theater by it which I occasionally go to to wach movies.
I once ordered flower arrangements from Metro Floral for my aunt who was in the hospitalized for a week after a major surgery she had. I always passed by this floral shop but never bought anything from them before this. The staff was very friendly and made suggestions as to what would be an appropriate arrangement that I should purchase. Their prices seemed pretty reasonable too and the floral arrangement was delivered pretty quickly.
The Safari Animal Collection is a gift store located in the Seaport Village shopping center. They sell everything to do with animals like figurines, t-shirts, stuffed animals calendars, waterfalls. I found many unusual animals that you dont normally see being sold anywhere else like armadillos and rottweiler dogs. They even sell Sandicast dog figurines which are designed by Sandra Brue who is a San Diego artist.
Harbor Lights Candle Shop is a another little shop among those located in the Seaport Village shopping center. This store specialiazes in candles and accessories. They do also sell oil lamps and floral accessories though. I didnt really find anything unique in their store that I would be interested in purchasing although the staff was friendly.
Located in San Diegos Seaport Village, Discover Nature is a little gifts store that sells items like table fountains, astronomy items, paua shell jewelry, Galileo thermometers. Their items are geared toward the tourists really and so are their prices. I didnt really find anything unique in their store that I havent seen in similar stores in the mall.
The Crystal Palace is another cutesy store located in the beautiful Seaport Village shopping center. This store sells a lot of crystal items from makers like Swarovski, Waterford. They also sell collectible figurines from famous makers like Hummel. They have a lot of merchandise that are attractively displayed throughout their store but I have never bought anything from them as of yet.
