Putt Putt Golf & Games
The Putt N Funn Zone is always a fun family time. They are located in Round Rock, a little bit out of the way from Austin, but Austin doesn't have many great quality miniature golf courses to have fun at. There is hardly ever a large crowd or wait, and they have great prices. They offer discounts on mulitple game tickets, and also on small kids and seniors.
Reds Indoor Range
There aren't many shooting ranges around the Austin area, but Red's Shooting Range is located right off Hwy 290 in Oak Hill, about 1 mile before the "Y". They have guns to rent and practice shooting with, wihich makes it easy to find a gun that fits well. They sell gun accessories, amunition. The charge for shooting is done by the hour, and they monitor the range at all times to make sure everyone is following the rules and being safe.
Riverside Golf Course
The Riverside Golf Course is located right off Riverside, behind the ACC Campus. It is very well cared for, have a great support staff to keep everything running well. The price is excellent for a golf course in Austin. You can play 9 or 18 holes. Sometimes the putting green is crowded, as well as the first few holes, because ACC uses the course as a teaching course for the golf program as well.
Jimmy Clay Roy Kizer Golf Crse
The Jimmy Clay Golf Course is located off Stassney Lane, near Hwy 290. They have a beautiful course, it is very well established, and also very secluded. You wouldn't know you were in Austin except for the short drive to get there. They have a very moderate green fee, very helpful staff, a pro shop with golf supplies for every need. They are normally not crowded.
Star Of Texas Fair & Rodeo
The Star of Texas Fair and Rodeo is held once a year in March at the Travis County Expo Center on the outskirts of Austin. They have a carnival, sovenier shops, displays, and the rodeo with famous singers performing after the rodeo every night. The price to enter is about $15 or higher, depending on the seats, and that includes your admission to the Carnival.
Scarborough Faire
The Scarborough Faire is held in the Spring in Waxahachie, TX, a small town outside Dallas. There are reinactments of the Renaissance period, villages, performers, jousting, street performers, musicians and artisans. Admission is around $20 for adults and food is about $5 and drinks~$3. They will let you leave and reenter throughout the day.
excalibur games
The Excalibur Gaming Store in San Antonio has a great selection of comic books and gaming supplies. They are open till midnight Monday and Tuesday and Friday, and new comics arrive on Wednesday. They have reasonable prices, and the staff is very helpful and knowledgeable. They have gaming nights many nights of the week, just check the website for a list of games.
Terra Toys
If you are looking for a unique toy or gift for someone, Terra Toys is the place to go. They are priced moderately to high, but have great quality toys and unique, hard to find ones as well. The customer service is fantastic, and they are very helpful in the gift/toy selections as well.
Austin Community College
Austin Community College has many campuses all over Austin and surrounding areas. They have very affordable rates for classes, and also offer classes many times during the day, evening, and on the weekends. They also offer online courses. The staff is very helpful, and most campuses have a bookstore for easy access to class supplies.
Polo Towers
Polo Towers is located on the Las Vegas strip right next to the MGM Grand. The resort is part of a timeshare program and the rooms are great. They have 1 or 2 bedroom suites with full kitchens, and a rooftop pool. The pool is not great, only 4 ft deep, but has a beautiful view of the Vegas Strip and private cabanas. The price is steep, but you are paying for location and a huge room.
