This is a great little shop to go to for unique gifts. They sell a wide variety of items to promote a healthy, mindful lifestyle. It is a good place to shop for someone else, or for yourself if you are looking for books on personal growth or other "new age" topics. I am interested in mediation, and after feeling lost at larger bookstores (where there are a lot of books on meditation, but nobody to really help you), I ended up at this shop. The staff members really know what they are talking about, and were able to easily help me find what I was looking for.
The Pampered Pup is a very aptly named store. It has everything you can imagine you would ever need in order to pamper your dog. Some items are a bit expensive, so this is a place to go more for treats than the day-to-day essentials. It is a fun place to shop for your dog. I went in just to browse, but couldn't resist a few adorable items for my pet.
Dawson Plumbing is staffed with some great plumbers. They are talented, honest, and very friendly. What impressed me is that they seem to know how awkward it can be for a woman home alone to let a strange man into her house, and they do what they can to ease any discomfort. They also have an office you can go to to speak with someone if you need more than they can offer over the phone.
Rose's Red Barn has such a nice atmosphere, it's a great place to go even if you are no planning to buy anything. There is a wide selection of gardening and landscaping supplies, although the items are a bit pricey. It's not good for very small children, but if you have older kids, they'd love it here, too. My young son enjoys shopping here for his own gardening items.
Baby Alexandra is a wonderful little shop if you are looking for children's items. The prices are fair for the products, and they have a great selection to choose from. I've bought a few small pieces of furniture here, as well as room accessories, and have never been disappointed with my purchase.
This store is very small and cramped, so be prepared to feel closed in while you're shopping. However, the selection and prices make it worth being cramped in. They have great prices, and wonderful discount "tag sales". I bought a bag of baby clothes for a friend, and everything was in wonderful condition. This is a great consignment shop.
Rorabeck has wonderful produce available, both fresh and "day old". The day old items are high quality, and can be used for baking or canning. Their fresh produce is above and beyond what you would find in a supermarket, and the prices are much more affordable. This is also a great place to pick up plants and flowers for your garden.
The staff at this nursery is very knowledgeable about all things related to gardening. They are helpful when you are shopping, and really do a great job of helping you choose plants that will work for your location (regarding sun/shade/water exposure, as well as the type of pots you'll be using). I have been shopping around so I can get started on a new container garden, and I will be returning to this nursery in the future.
Old School Bakery and Cafe has a wide selection of foods, from traditional bakery items to soups, salads and sandwiches (thus making it a wonderful place to have lunch). They offer samples of their breads, which are always very fresh, making the bakery smell delicious. The food here is of high quality, and the atmosphere is very welcoming.
This is a small store, so you will not find the same selection you'd see at a larger scrapbook or craft store. However, the friendly, helpful staff more than makes up for the limited selection. This is a wonderful place to go for ideas, and if you're a beginner and looking for advice. I went in without a clear idea of where to start, and the staff took the time to hear my thoughts and steer me in the right direction as to what supplies I'd need to get started.
