I just love to shop at the Pike Place Fish Market. It's located right through the main entrance to Pike Place Market which is actually quite famous and have been shown on tv and the movies. They sell yellow fin tuna, salmon, halibut, prawns, crab. Everything is fresh and displayed in crushed ice all around the counter. It's a lot of fun to shop there.
I just recently took on a new hobby of knitting which is really quite relaxing. I found the Weaving Works store as a result of my new hobby. The store is located in the University district and sells the largest selection of yarns that I've ever seen. They carry many exotic and designer yarns from all over the world as well as patterns, tools, books and accessories.
Ive shopped for glasses at Eyes on Fremont a couple of times. They have a lot of hip looking glasses there to choose from. Their prices are pretty average I would say. The store decor is definitely modern contemporary with black furnishings and a wall lined with industrial metallic aluminum where they have their glasses displayed. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable.
Capers is one of my favorite places to shop. They carry almost everything. They have a kitchen section, a linen section, a gift section and a furniture section. I love to get decoration ideas from their furniture section where they have mini living rooms completely decorated with sofas, coffee tables, carpets and wall art. Check them out around June when they have their storewide sale where you get 20% off their merchandise.
If you are looking for some vinyl music then this is the place for you. Second Time Around has many to select from and their prices are super cheap. You can also try out a vinyl before you buy it to make sure its playable. They have turntables around the store where you can pop one in and listen to it.
I just love shopping in this wonderful store. Enlighten sells the most beautiful lamps I have ever seen. The owner is from Thailand and you can see his cultures influence in his beautiful merchandise many of which he has made himself. They also sell picture frames and gift items like little jewelry boxes. Their prices are pretty reasonable.
Olivine is a great little store that sells not too trendy but more in the classy category clothing, shoes and accessories. They have some really designer items like Cosabella, Kate Spade,. Miguelina. I just love the vintage perfume bottles. The customer service needs some improvement though and parking is kind of a pain.
Burnt Sugar is a great store to shop for that friend who has everything. You know who I mean. This place has vintage glassware, furniture, tableware, journals, jewelry, handmade greeting cards, and decorative items. Many of their items are a bit on the expensive side though. The staff is very friendly.
I was looking for a birthday gift for a friend of mine that loves to cook and found this little independent store. They sell everything a gourmet chef would be proud to own and would not go without. They also sell some beautiful table linens that would make great gifts for anyone. The staff is friendly and could answer any question about any of the gadgets they sell.
Planning a Polynesian themed party? Then I would definitely go to Hawaii General Store & Gallery. They carry everything you could need like paper plates, napkins and cups with the Hawaiian theme. They even sell fresh leis. They also sell Hawaiian clothing, bath products, music, jewelry and food products like cooking oils, salad dressings, preserves, cookies and candies.
