Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium
This is such a fun place to go with the whole family. My kids love going here. Its a zoo and an aquarium rolled into one. They have a Wild Wonders Outdoor Theatre where the zoo keepers do some presentations. They have a Kids Zone that has an otter slide, a dancing lilypad fountain, goats for the kids to feed and a play area.
Seattle Children's Theater
The Childrens Theater is such a fun experience for me and my kids. The shows weve seen were imaginative and sophisticated that adults and kids alike will enjoy them. The sets and costumes are just beautiful too. They also have a gift shop where they sell toys and books related to the seasons plays.
World Merchants
World Merchants carries a wide selection of spices, herbs and teas that I have ever seen. Their herbs are freshly harvested and they offer so many varieties to choose from. Their spices and teas are no different. They can even mix special blends for you according to your tastes. The staff is very knowledgeable too. They can help you make a selection and tell you the differences between the different flavors and smells.
De Laurenti Specialty Foods
I love Italian food and whenever I need ingredients for any of dishes I want to make I head over to DeLaurenti Specialty Food Market. They have everything a person could need for any Italian cuisine. Their selection of cheese is superb. You can bring any cheese youve selected upstairs where all the wines are located and they can tell you which wine will go great with your cheese.
Illusionz Magical Entertainment Center
Illusionz is a fun place for the entire family. Its a way for us to keep the kids occupied when the weather is rainy and the kids want to get out of the house. They have batting cages, arcades, miniature golf, lasertag, a climbing wall and even magic shows. Their food prices are pretty reasonable.
Curious Kidstuff
Curious Kidstuff is one of my kids favorite toy store. The carry a large selection of baby and toddler toys, Brio and PlayMobil sets, games, puzzles and gardening tools and many more. My kids love to play with the toys scattered on the floor here and there and on the play tables and dollhouses. They have free parking available and provide complimentary gift wrapping. They also have an art studio upstairs where they offer art classes.
Interbay Miniature Golf
The Interbay Miniature Golf is located in the Interbay area between downtown and Ballard. Its a fun place to play some miniature golf. They have a golf course, a mini putting course, and a heated driving range. We did a birthday party here for one of the kids and the package included a party room, food for the kids and a round of miniature golf.
The Farm
The Farm is an amazing place for the entire family to experience an actual farm. You can pick flowers, pumpkins and corn from the field to purchase. They have a huge 12 acre corn maze shaped into Washington State that you can roam in for $5/person or $20/family. They also have a putting course with 18 holes that you can play for the same price as the corn maze. When you get hungry you can buy food at the Little Piggys Bistro. Food prices are very reasonable. Its just so much fun to do something different and away from the city.
Mounger Pool
Mounger Pool is such a fun place to go swimming with the whole family. Their swimming pools are outdoors and they keep the pool water warm. They have a large pool that has a corkscrew slide and a smaller pool thats ideal for small kids. They have deck chairs and a grassy area for sun bathing. They also have a small picnic area. They are open during the summers only and they have a small admission fee.
The Hair Chair Incorporated
Ive taken my kids to have the hair cut at the Hair Chair located in the University Village shopping mall. The hairstylists there are very nice and very patient with the kids. Kim is great, she knows how to handle wriggly, squirmy tots and even offered books to distract their attention. Make an appointment but, if you forget, try calling to see if they can squeeze you in if they had cancellations or no-shows.
