Miami Metrozoo
The only zoo I know of where the animals roam around the same walk path as you. The zoo is cageless and although it seems daring to visit, it sure is every penny spent at the entrance. There are staff members all around assisting visitors and introducing them to the animals. They offer exotic animals from around the world which makes the visit so exciting. It truly is a wonderful place to visit especially if you have kids.
Fairchild Tropical Garden
One of the largest botanical gardens I have ever visited. Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden has a variety of plants and trees from all over the world in one garden. They have a number of lakes scattered through out the garden which gives the garden a nice touch. This is definitely a place you want to visit to stroll around with someone special or a place to walk around with the kids.
City of Coral Gables' Venetian Pool
The only pool I know of this huge that has fresh spring water you can actually swim in. The huge spring water pool is surrounded by coral rock which makes it so surreal. The water is never too cold or too warm here. They keep it at a moderate temperature so you can just jump right in. Theres a small entrance fee but well worth the charge for enjoyment.
Vizcaya Museum And Gardens
The gardens here at the Vizcaya Museum are so huge you can get lost at dark. The many fountains staggered around the garden are so beautiful and makes each part of the garden its unique character. It's actually a place where many people get married or have receptions too. The mansion is decorated with an assortment of decorations which make it look so dramatic. The fine art and classic furniture in all the rooms show a lot of story behind the history. Not a bad place to spend a Sunday afternoon.
Downtown Aquarium
The Downtown Aquarium has the largest tanks in Texas full of marine life. My children thought this was the best attraction we visited during our stay out in Houston. My sister moved to Houston with her husband and she thought this would be a good place for the kids. They especially had fun on the train ride that runs through a long tunnel surrounded by marine life. One place you have got to visit.
Concord Sewing Ctr
I was very impressed with the knowledge and professional service I was given here at Concord Sewing Center. My mother let me have one of her old sewing machines which wasn't working anymore but fixable. So my husband helped me bring it to Concord Sewing Center where they fixed it and now it works as good as new. The staff is awesome and really helped with how I can clean and maintain my machine.
Sewing MacHine Shop
I was so amazed by the huge selection of sewing machines and part availble here at The Sewing Machine Shop in Walnut Creek. It's a little drive from where I live but well worth the drive and experience. They also offer sewing classes which I thought was so great. I've always wanted to expand my knowledge with sewing since my mother was a seamstress. The staff is awesome, professional, and knowledgeable with everything the store has to offer and more.
Paul's Shoe Repair Svc
They have some of the kind hearted people working here at Pauls Shoe Repair. The minute I walked in the store I was greeted and told I would be serviced after the current customer. It's a pretty small store and very easily passed up. Also the parking can be difficult to find because of the busy area but you just can't beat the service offered here.
Berkeley Iceland
Great place to take the kids ice skating and to cool off during the hot summers. I had my daughter's birthday party held here at Berkeley Iceland and the outcome couldn't have been any better. The group rate saved a bundle and it took care of renting skates and the children can go back anytime during the day.
Import Tile Co
I love the floor stone tiles here at Import Tile Co. I've always wanted to decorate my kitchen floors with the stone tiles like they have in Italy. My aunt who lives in Italy have the same tiles and I'm so jealous by how beautiful they look. The staff here are good and concerning with your visit. The prices are ok and affordable.
