Friedmans is the place to go if you need to have a photograhper take pictures at an affair you are making like a wedding or bar mitzvah. They take gorgeous pictures. The prices are average but sometimes they have offers like two hundred dollars off a wedding package etc. The photograhpers are friendly and make you look better then you thought you do!
Mr. Minkoff is a very experienced locksmith. He has been in the business for many years. More recently his son also works with him. They do everything from installing locks and safes to getting you out of a jam when you lock youself in the car. There prices are average for the field, and the service is excellent.
Tivtov is a flooring store located on 13th avenue in the heart of the boro park shopping district. They carry a huge selction of all types of flooring like carpet, ceramic tiles, linoleum, and the more recently popular laminate flooring. The prices are a little high. The staff is good, they know what they are talking about and they install to perfection.
Torah Treasures is a judaica store that has a nice selection of books, tapes and gift items. Their prices are very low compared to other judaica stores. The people who work their are really nice. They gift wrap at no extra cost to you. There is never problems parking there. I usually wait to get my judaica items until I can get over there bec. they are so cheap.
Sanders Furniture is a good place to buy a new couch, recliner, bed, mattress, table or even a bookshelf. They have a wide variety of all those items and more in their large showroom. They are always running sales. They deliver the furiture to you. The stuff is all seems like solid quality furniture.
Fruit Palace is a fruit and vegetable store on avenue j. They also sell grocery items. The prices are very good. They are known to specialize in making beautiful fruit platters. They are open on week nights until eleven o'clock. The store is a little disorganzied though. Parking is sometimes a big problem especially on Friday.
Silver Town is located in the heart of Boro Park. They carry a large selection of beaufitul pieces of silver. They have menorahs, vases, kiddush cups, napkin holders, flatware, candlelabras, esrog boxes etc. The prices are good and they often have sales before the jewish holidays. The staff is friendly and will help you find what you need.
Sola Bakery makes a large variety of cookies. They have the most unusual types ranging from pistachio to the syrian 'kak'.
They sell a lot of sefardi style baked goods. They also package the baked goods and sell it to many stores in Brooklyn. Abraham, the owner is a very nice guy. The cookies are always fresh.
Strauss Bakery is an amazing place to visit. It is very large, clean and the cakes, cookies, pies and everything that they sell tastes heavenly. Everything is so fresh. You won't get stuck with stale bread here! They make the most delcious chocoate/mocha cake. It's a place you must see to believe. They also will deliver to your party, bris etc.
Ossies is not your typical smelly fish market. They have a very clean store and it doesn't have that strong fish smell. They sell prepared fish as well as uncooked fish which they gladly will cut to your specifications. The workers are very friendly. The prices are good too. They also deliver if you want.
